Witch Spring Hill Ice Cream — Restaurant in West Bath

This place was the worst ice cream I have had in years. I literally took a few bites and ended up throwing my chocolate in a waffle cone right into the trash. So depressing. It was too sweet, but beyond that the texture was awful. It was gummy and soft, tasting too melted, perhaps too much emulsifier? Not enough milkfat? I don't know what was wrong with it, but it is so hard to mess up chocolate ice cream especially for someone excitedly anticipating it, and this place messed it up, royally. The other three of us had better experiences than me, but all were underwhelming. So yeah. I recommend avoiding this place. It almost ruined my evening it was so bad but I salvaged it by eating some good cheese...

Years ago I had blueberry-ginger ice cream and it was delish. I saw that Witch Spring had both those flavors on the menu so decided to try to recreate my memory. Holy MotherEffin Bananas. I had the dairy free blueberry sorbet, and it was akin to eating chilled blueberry pie filling. It's a gorgeous natural indigo color and is bursting with wild Maine blueberries. The ginger ice cream had little flecks of real ginger in it. Truth be told, I would have appreciated a bit more of that ginger zing, but maybe it was there and I was too distracted by the blueberry deliciousness to notice. Witch Spring Ice Cream in Bath,Maine is great, especially their Ginger flavor...lip-smacking delicious and fresh. The staff are courteous and helpful. As as reviewer,I always try to let a business know if something is off before I criticize them publicly. If the same issue shows up after alerting them of it, then I will address it.
