I was going to post a 4 star review originally because the person who was helping (originally) went above and beyond to fix a company mistake that supposedly has been happening for a while now where online stock is not actually available in the store. Well, the resolution he came up with wasn’t necessarily perfect, but It was acceptable. It was his hard work, and customer service that I appreciated. He was the only guy working and he made a point to take care of our problem then and there and get us back on the road. Because of him, I decided to have the rest of the work done that we were quoted for with VIP. I call and asked to schedule some of the services that were on our quote and specifically said I need this service done first if there is time there’s a secondary service on the quote but it’s gonna be close to closing (based on the appointment time I was given with a 30-60 minute expected service time). the first service needs to be done, The second I could do myself I just haven’t had time so for the quote I was given if you have time, it’d be great to have it done. Go in for the appointment an hour and a half goes by and it was all wrong. They did the services that we asked to be done only if they had time first. then tried to charge us almost 4 times the quoted amount for that secondary service (without verifying that would be ok with us prior to doing the service) then after having to say no I’m not paying that, suddenly the important service couldn’t be completed. it was getting close to closing, amazing how suddenly, no cant and it’s gonna be another $900 to do it. So we took it to another Mechanic (we called and told them what happened) they put it up and confirmed the almost $900 quote to replace parts was not necessary. so I think it really depends on who’s working because the people that were there this weekend, feels like they were trying to pull a fast one. Read moreRead moreNot sure how to feel about our experience here. Made an appointment 12/18 for Inspection couldn’t get us in till 1/02 that’s fine. Day of the appointment got told car wouldn’t pass inspection if we don’t get something with valves and gaskets done, however VIP didn’t know what the exact problem was. Brought it in Wednesday to get fixed estimates $200. Then somehow lots of parts become involved that they don’t have so had to be left overnight and will be done the next day. Bill went from a $12 inspection to $200 mystery, next $700 for all the parts, labor, diagnostics ect. Still feel very much left in the dark as to what the issue was. I’m not a car person I’ll give you that but I’ve never seen oil leaking (that’s what the problem seems to be? Something with oil?) didn’t think that valves and gaskets would pass or fail an inspection. Luckily they were nice and didn’t have us pay for second. Had to wait another day to get the car due to it being ready while both of us were at work. Finally got it and paid for but when there they forgot to inspect it again so we could get the sticker and while leaving check engine light came on. Got it fixed and still have to go back for one more part/repair the following week that we still feel left in the dark about. Overall the workers were polite and nice, kept our car inside due to the snow which meant a lot to us! Again don’t know how to feel completely, we are not from Maine and need to get the inspection quick, figured we’d give it a shot. Not bad but might find better pricing and someone to be able to walk you through the problem at a mom and pop mechanic. Not horrible just not 100% satisfied, again felt left...
Changed my review from 1 star to 4. After a bad experience there multiple times, the folks there reached out to me and offered to make things right. They handled the issue professionally and made every effort to win back my business. I appreciate the effort and have thus changed my review. A big thanks to Ian and the manager (I can never remember his name :/) for taking care of my automotive needs and for being very professional about it. Will come back to this location in the future.
(This was my old review) Visited this location a few times for tires, and first time got very little cooperation from the manager behind the desk. I wanted to shop my options for winter tires, but it was like pulling teeth to get any information. No big deal, so I moved on. Gave them a try again, for balancing 4 tires, and the man (Ian was his name) over the phone was very helpful and gave me a time that worked for me. I called immediately after to reschedule for half hour early, because it work better for me. He noted the time change, and said he'd see me at 4:30. When my appointment came, I showed up at 4:15, expecting to wait a little while, for the same manager I dealt with before argued with me that my appointment was still at 5. I told him no, I called to reschedule the same minute, but the manager said my appointment was for 5, and he probably couldn't get to it anyways. No need to argue with me, but the guy on the phone must not have changed the time, and the manager wasn't even willing to work with me. I've had nothing but lousy service from this place, I do not...
