In March, I hosted a small baby shower for my best friend at Idle Hour. The space provided an amazing backdrop for a "little cutie" themed baby shower. Food was fresh and delicious. The vibe was chill. And the staff were some of the loveliest, most accommodating, most kind group of young women I've ever encountered!Needless to say, the shower was a flawless event and everything I had dreamed of in my planning! Kudos to Edie and the team at Idle Hour for their professionalism, courteousness and generosity!

I have been on a journey for many years (at least 20) in search of the best Ruben sandwich. My epic journey has finally come to find... that the best Ruben was in my own town the whole time. This is a cozy, adorable eatery that will take you back in time. The menu is fantastic as well as the food. I like to come bring the kids for cherry Pancakes with butter and honey in the mornings. There is an area to also eat outdoors. Please bring cash, as credit cards are not accepted.

Nothing like the feel of being in Italy! The stone walk way with metal chairs and tables! Must go and see for yourself! Cold coffee was good, along with chicken salad sandwich! Live music Tabula Rasa was playing, sounded and looked good! ** CASH ONLY!!**

The ambiance of the building that's about the only exceptional quality.

The food is okay. The pricing is low but cash only.

We were told to seat ourselves, but the only tables were dirty or corner tables with one chair. No staff bothered to clear the tables. When we got someone to she seemed annoyed, and was equally annoyed when my husband asked of he could get over easy eggs a la carte. You would think he'd asked for something inappropriate the way she looked at him.

No napkins were brought to the table. Only the ones left from the previous occupants. As the tables around us emptied they didn't clean any of them either. They had plenty of staff but most of them didn't look like they were even out of middleschool and seemed dazed and shy like they didn't know what they were supposed to do.

We were in and out fast.

The only one who was warm towards us was the front cashier with the...

We stopped by on a recent Sunday around 10 am. The hours on the door indicated they did not open until 11. Turns out the area churches take all parking spaces on Sunday mornings. [They are open at 8 am weekdays and Saturday]

Greg, the owner saw us looking at the menu in the window and opened the place up early for us! The first thing he did was bring over a basket of eggs, and informed us these came from his farm on the way in. His Ruben sandwich was a mix of beef from his own property and a local butcher.

Very reasonable for the quality food and excellent conversation. Nice Wisconsin beer and wine selection. The building and interior were tastefully restored by the owner himself. We will certainly visit again very soon. Great alternative to the crowds in Cedarburg. A true farm to...

I was looking for a different place for my daughter and I to have lunch in West Bend and found The Idle Hour..or Two on the internet. We decided to try it out and we were very pleased with the decor (quaint from the late 1800's) and friendly service staff. The menu has great selections of sandwiches (hot and cold), salads, soups, etc. They have several wines, beers, sodas, etc. and the prices are really great. I had the hot Portabella Mushroom sandwich which came with potato chips and fresh pineapple for $5.25 My daughter had the Portabella Mushroom salad at the same price. We were very pleased with everything and will be returning soon. Just remember to bring cash or a check as they do not take credit cards. I am so happy I found this little "gem" of...
