The ambiance of the building that's about the only exceptional quality.
The food is okay. The pricing is low but cash only.
We were told to seat ourselves, but the only tables were dirty or corner tables with one chair. No staff bothered to clear the tables. When we got someone to she seemed annoyed, and was equally annoyed when my husband asked of he could get over easy eggs a la carte. You would think he'd asked for something inappropriate the way she looked at him.
No napkins were brought to the table. Only the ones left from the previous occupants. As the tables around us emptied they didn't clean any of them either. They had plenty of staff but most of them didn't look like they were even out of middleschool and seemed dazed and shy like they didn't know what they were supposed to do.

Read moreI was looking for a different place for my daughter and I to have lunch in West Bend and found The Idle Hour..or Two on the internet. We decided to try it out and we were very pleased with the decor (quaint from the late 1800's) and friendly service staff. The menu has great selections of sandwiches (hot and cold), salads, soups, etc. They have several wines, beers, sodas, etc. and the prices are really great. I had the hot Portabella Mushroom sandwich which came with potato chips and fresh pineapple for $5.25 My daughter had the Portabella Mushroom salad at the same price. We were very pleased with everything and will be returning soon. Just remember to bring cash or a check as they do not take credit cards. I am so happy I found this little "gem" of...
