The Honey Baked Ham Company — Restaurant in West Bloomfield Township

I normally have nothing but rave reviews for the West Bloomfield location. But today I had the rudest encounter with an African American female employee. Let me first say I’m a 50yr old African American woman so this isn’t about race. I was being waited on by two delightful very pleasant young ladies. They were showing me a 1/2 ham vs a 1/4 and the savings per lb. Their rude coworker reached over them to ring up her customer. One of the young ladies servicing me sd “ we were in the middle of helping her”. The rude employee sd “oh well he was first”. It wasn’t a matter of first or last. I was in the middle of my transaction trying to make a decision on my purchase. I remained polite and nice to the young ladies servicing me. The rude employee finished her transaction and immediately went to the back. I couldn’t read her name tag in its entirety but it started with “Tai” and she had a bunch of twist in her hair. RUDE doesn’t begin to explain her nasty disposition. I was appalled by what she said and the manner in which she handled the situation. The only thing that saved this sale and reason I gave 3 stars instead of 1 was how nice the young ladies servicing me directly were. I hope Honey Baked West Bloomfield management sees this review and handles her...

This will be my last year buying from Honey Baked Ham. You still have to wait long periods of time when prepay. They don't put a ham to the side for prepaids...the associate told me to either pay extra for the size he had or come back (after I ordered the day before and still waited in line almost an hour). He had a bad attitude, rolled his eyes when I asked him to let me check my email regarding prices bring approximate, since I have never had to pay extra in the over 20 years of buying from them. Then he aggressively started asking if I wanted a smaller ham or not after just a few seconds and rolled his eyes again after I replied that he had just heard me say to let me check the email and that he could give me a minute since I had already waited well past my pick up time. The ham is not worth the price spent. I'll be going to other recommended places that have better prices and service. I paid over $90 for a 84.5lb ham, while others got 100lb hams elsewhere for $60....

I absolutely 💯 ♥️ this location of The Honey Baked Ham. This location is not well known unless you live and or shop within the nearby neighborhood! This location is always clean and comfortable to enter and eat outside if you so desire. This is my go to when I want a quality sandwich meal, the meat, bread and produce are ALWAYS FRESH!!! Thank you to the store manager Brittany for ALWAYS being professional, helpful, thoughtful and understanding that people are not always having a good day and just want the comfort of their favorite food! Thank you Brittany! This Honey Baked Ham is underrated because of the location but I promise you, that you will leave there...
