Welcome to the country kettle where the food is ice cold, the wait for food after ordering is over an hour and the wait staff doesnât even acknowledge your existence. This âexperienceâ for which they only allot you 90 mins to have is uniquely special. While they do have good coffee thatâs about the only thing they have. You order and wait 60-75 mins of that 90 for your food and then have to eat as fast as possible to make sure they can get the next customers in. When you get the food the chef, who constantly yells at the wait staff, prepares you his finest cold dishes with broken sauces and no seasoning so you end up eating a plate of cold food you waited over an hour to get. But, donât think your experience ends after ordering and waiting for food. The wait staff will walk around ignoring you other than to refill your coffee and set no expectations of timelines or even offer condolences for you sitting there for as long as you are. This restaurant also offers a sitcom of a short waitress not listening to the chef about what items are in stock or customers about their orders and consistently got orders wrong for myself and those around us with nary an apology. Then she would say âIâm gonna kill âemâ every time her not listening to someone lead to a dissatisfied customer or upset the chef. Lastly youâll get multi course meal service because if you order more than one thing they bring it out to you at different times to really keep you guessing about which item will be the coldest or have the most broken sauce. You can find better breakfast at McDonaldâs with better customer service and attention to detail. Do yourself a favor and unless youâre craving cold food, bad service, arguing amongst the front and back of house and a 75 min wait time with only 15 mins to eat go find anywhere else to eat. Would give this 0 stars if I could. What a...
Read moreMy mom and I like to try breakfast places around the Worcester area and we stopped by Country Kettle this morning. The unassuming exterior makes way for a quaint and charming interior. There are only 6 tables, so if you plan on going on a weekend or a busy time, you may have to wait! We were greeted with smiles despite not being regulars or townie, and we felt right at home! Everything was very clean and the tables were stocked with everything you'd need (creamers, ketchup, syrup etc). My mom ordered pancakes and I had 2 eggs, homefries and a grilled English muffin. The food was outstanding. Fresh, hot and delicious. My mother had a coughing fit at one point during the meal (she had food go down the wrong pipe) and the waitress came right over with a glass of ice water without even having to be asked. It was a very kind gesture! We really enjoyed our meal and our experience and will...
Read moreVery cozy little diner, staff was very nice and food was definitely above average for diners in the area (and diners are awesome in greater worcester, so this is high praise!). Only problem is they only had liptons for tea, which is pretty normal, but I wish places stocked better tea. Took my mum here, she said the coffee was just okay as well. But we both had orders of biscuits and gravy, eggs and home fries, the biscuits were nice and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside, stellar. The sausage gravy was delicious as well, nothing out of the ordinary but I've never seen a place mess that up. Home fries were pretty standard, but again, they don't mess up breakfast in this area. Will definitely go again, highly recommend this place if you need some breakfast, but it's small and you might have to wait to sit...
