The Harvest Grill — Restaurant in West Branch

Small town atmosphere that was clean. The food took longer than expected to arrive at the table for not being very busy at 12:30. We were not told at the time there was a 25 person take out order that was placed before we arrived that was being prepared. I think dining in customers should expect timely services. That’s good business and was always the case to take care of the person standing in front of you. Had we been told that we would have to wait for 25 to go orders to be filled before we expected our food then we certainly should have had the choice to go elsewhere.

I ordered the special. Grilled ham and cheese on sourdough and tomato basil soup. Sourdough bread was smaller slices that were thin and didn’t appear to be homemade and American cheese. Wasn’t asked about cheese choices. Ham was generous but looked and tasted like basic lunch meat sliced thinner.. The homemade strawberry jam was good. Tomato soup was decent, strong tomato flavor that was tangy, not much basil flavor. My husband ordered the southern skillet with sausage gravy, shredded hash browns and 2 eggs over medium. It had white shredded cheese. Not sure what kind it was. There were a lot of green peppers and onions that were very fresh. It wasn’t very hot though. Service was friendly and coffee was kept filled. We tried it out after googling good restaurants near us and it popped up 4.9 stars which was overrated in our opinion but maybe we ordered the wrong thing. Absolutely Amazing Breakfast! First time stopping while up in the area visiting and most definitely will return when we come back!!

Service was spot on - friendly, chatted with us and always came to the table with a smile.

I ordered the Cinnamon French Toast (2 slices and 1 inch thick each) and I was going to have it with my favorite, of a side of cinnamon and sugar, I don't use syrup but the owner (who was our server) said that his wife's family always uses sour cream and brown sugar on top. It sounded interesting so I told him to bring that and I was NOT DISAPPOINTED. It was beyond amazing, it was decadent, luxurious, mwuah! This should be how it's served! This will be how I eat my French Toast from now on!!

My Mom ordered their breakfast special, homemade croissant sandwich with a scrambled egg, sausage and cheese which also came with a side of tater tots. She said it was fabulous.
