I order banh mis almost whenever they're on the menu. This one (grilled pork) delivered. Just a top tier sandwich with ample umami, delicious meat, the right amount of fresh veg, and solid bread. As good as I've had in the Midwest. The woman who handed me my food was pretty explicit about how to best enjoy (with the included soy sauce!), which I appreciated. The sandwich was pretty cheap (8 usd), but not especially substantial outside of the bread. Imo great value when taste is accounted for.
I ordered carryout, so I can't speak to the dine-in experience, but the interior was spotless and included a very large tv showing sports. There were a variety of interesting fresh bakery options and bagged/bottled Vietnamese/SE Asian goodies. I'll try some next time. Pretty Christian vibe between the music and Jesus decorations but nothing overbearing or offensive. Location is pretty convenient with ample parking, but it's not really where you expect to find an awesome restaurant.
All that being said, the accessibility is low. No online presence at all. No ingredients listed on the menu. You get what you get. They have a system where you mark what you want on the menu for carryout, but there's really no way to see what's included in the items you order. It worked for me because I don't have any dietary restrictions/concerns, but I'm not terribly fond of it as a general practice.
Anyway, I loved my sandwich and will be back. I'll probably try some other options alongside my grilled pork banh mi order. Hopefully I'll...
Read moreThe food at this place is pretty good. The pho broth has great flavor, along with the cold bowls sauce. For the sandwich’s I would go over to Saigon Noodle Bar. Their phos are comparable. The only down fall to this place would be the service. The service is terrible. First time we went order was incorrect but they corrected. It took over 40 minutes. Second time we waited 30 minutes with no drinks. And food took 40 minutes. The food is great but don’t expect great service or quick service by any means.
Update: took almost an hour to get my food after they had forgotten to put the order in. And their spring rolls are not something I would order again. Not only did they forget we order them. But their pork/shrimp spring rolls only came with rice noodles ONLY SHRIMP and lettuce… no cucumbers, cilantro, or pork! As the food was good it doesn’t out weigh the terrible service and I will be going to Saigon Noodle bar from now on where I know I can get great food and amazing...
Read more(September 2023) It’s a fairly new place, they opened 2 months ago. The atmosphere is nice, a bit like a fast food restaurant or a coffee shop. You can tell they’re still in the phase of settling in by the moving boxes in the dining area. It seems to be a family owned place. I ordered to-go vermicelli. The cashiers are two young ladies who are very nice and helpful and were nice to accommodate some changes in my order. Good customer service. Their menu is printed in a paper sheet and may need more food options. This is a place that is growing and may have potential. Worth the try.
Food is actually good. My grilled pork vermicelli was very tasty and it comes wirth 2 egg rolls. Everything was fresh and flavorful. I also had a Vietnamese coffee, which was strong as I expected.
I think this is a good place, worth trying. Good food and good service. As they get more customers, they might invest in more technology and become more competitive. I recommend...
