Although the name may give the off the assumption of "generic," rest assured the selection and custom orders are anything but.
Although the aesthetics seem to be a mix of colorful Bohemian Vintage, going to the left of the register leads to a closed off outdoor seating area blocked off from street view.
Pros:
The available treats range from traditional american sans donuts to the EU classic that is a scone.
Custome orders are obviously welcomed. However, 1 should not expect same day turnaround unless it's something already on display like the fruit tart.
The drink list is very traditional, don't expect any exotic implementations, I will note now that this is not something I consider a negative aspect.
Cons:
The bathroom....
The colorful disposition of this business is at the forefront of this LGB+ friendly. However, because many things are of a vintage era, imperfections are easily noticeable. Although this is not a net negative, the fact that 100% of the available seating has paint chipping or rust that will get into certain clothing fabrics.
That refrigeration unit humming is distracting and almost overpowers the very low volume of the music, but if you're relaxing, your ears may naturally toon it out quickly.
If you want to work, think, relax 😌 you come to the right place, do not consider this a good date spot necessarily due to the fact that a basic volume conversation with a loved one could almost immediately ruin the calming/quiet nature of this place easily.
In closing, the issues are minor, the selection is addictive, consider not using the bathroom, and I highly...
Read moreI love Bake so much! I live right nearby and count my blessings every day when I come here (which is probably far too often!). The prices are fair for what you get -- a rich, delicious pastry for me at least once a week. I've tried just about everything and really don't think you can go wrong. But the pistachio croissant is especially unique here — grab it if you're lucky and they haven't sold out! In fact, this place sells out pretty often, so the earlier you go, the more choices you'll have. The quiche is a good non-sweet option. I also got my birthday cake here this year — the $60 rainbow cake easily fed ~35 people and I had a little under half of it left over. It was both absurdly cute and delicious, a good reflection of the balance between aesthetic taste and taste taste that is well-straddled in just about everything these folks do! And they're nice :) (PS -- good spot to have a little sit-down at too! Sadly the patio is gone, but it's colorful inside and fun to see parents come with kids from ballet across the street. Family friendly place, not a go-too for...
Read moreWorst customer service ever. I had questions about a cake order and the person I spoke to inside the bakery (woman wearing a bandana on her head) was not very nice at all. I followed them on instagram and their pastries looked delicious. I went to place an order and ask questions. Everything she said was that the answer was online, to look online. Finally when I said ok well can you at least place the order, she replied you can do that online too. I still decided to purchase and she kept rushing me and even walked away to help someone else who was still trying to decide as well. I privately messaged my concerns via instagram but never received a reply! I was there to purchase, not waste your time! I drove from far and don’t appreciate the way you made us feel! I’m glad you opened my eyes as to how you treat people. I didn’t lose anything because I gave someone else...
