Fantastic coffee shop with the most lovely owners! We found this place by accident and were so glad we did. Their flat white was excellent, and so was the multi-layered honey cake: a true delicacy, with a fine and subtle honey taste and a very well balanced sweetness. The place has a warm and cozy decor, but what really made it stand out was the incredibly friendly owners, a sweet couple who had taken over the place just eight days before our visit. What a pleasure to meet such genuine and hospitable people! We wish them every success and can wholeheartedly recommend their coffee shop to everyone who’s looking not only for a quick caffeine fix or daily dosage of sweet treats, but also for a truly warm and welcoming atmosphere.

This place is a gem in Chicago. Their Matcha is fantastic and their cakes are delicious. I had the honey cake and the pistachio cheesecake. They’re awesome. It’s run by a couple from Kyrgyzstan, and the husband was a barista there. They definitely know their stuff. I had the pleasure to meet the wife Bermat (or Becca). She’s one of the nicest people you’ll meet and she’s welcoming customers with a great smile. I hope to return to Chicago in the future and visit Beanokio and Bermat again.

After Hugo Tea shut down, I was bummed, because it was the only place nearby that sold Hojicha Lattes. I came into this shop one day with my boyfriend looking for hojicha and spoke with one of the owners. He told us that he would look into it and add it to the menu. I went in the next week, and it was on the menu, and it was DELICIOUS! I haven't tried anything else, because I was so ecstatic about finally getting hojicha near me, but we'll definitely be back for that and more! Honestly, it's not everyday that you make a request and a shop immediately delivers on it. It was definitely unexpected but very much appreciated. It says a lot about the people who own the shop. Stopped by for a TGTG order and decided to try the pistachio cheesecake on a whim—so glad I did. It was the best dessert I’ve ever had. I dropped some not-so-subtle hints to my boyfriend that I want it for my birthday because it was that good.

I also tried the spinach mushroom croissant, which was incredibly delicious and flavorful.

The owners are so friendly and genuinely welcoming, and the café itself is bright, cozy, and full of charm. This place is everything you could want in a small neighborhood café—delicious food, warm service, and a lovely atmosphere. Do yourself a favor and don’t miss out. 10/10...
