I’m a Southside Woman and usually only eat ribs from my end of town, however, a conference I was attending on the Westside of town let out late so I looked for Barbecue (on Google of course) and made my way to Ben’s Bar-Be-Cue. I got there 30 minutes before closing, normally people are in a bad mood or serve the days remaining food with attitude, so I was surprised when I was greeted and offered a taste test by none other than Mr. Ben himself! I love the pride in ownership and confidence in his product as he told me about his barbecue.

Now about his ribs... I still eat pork, but was surprised to learn that he offers chicken and turkey tips for a real diverse offering of grilled meats. He gave me a sample of each with the regular sauce and I was IMPRESSED with the tenderness of the meat and the flavor of the sauce. It took me right back to some of my favorite southside locations.

The smoke on the meat popped threw the flavor and made me want to slap my own mama it was so good. I decided to get ā€œBen’s Comboā€ which had a three meat sampling: pork rib tips, sausage link, fried chicken with sauce and fries with the Spicy Sauce instead of plain and a slice of caramel cake šŸ°I made the right choice!

One of the first things I noted about my meal was the packaging. I’m used to getting barbecue in a foam container that often pops open and leaves my food rubbing against a plastic bag. Take a look at the photo, the good was served in a plastic container with a secure lid, so no pop opens or drop out food and the portion size was generous!!!

The food was hot, fresh, flavorful and by the time I was finished, I had to roll myself away from the table!!! This was excellent barbecue and I recommend it to everyone, but especially Southsiders driving through 🤣🤣🤣

As I close this, I’m still thinking about the sauce, it was so good, I want to lick my fingers for effect šŸ„˜šŸ¤—šŸ˜Š šŸ˜† (Note: if you read all this, give the...

First the menu on line is not updated. Ok cool wasn’t really upset about that.. My order was a large tip, and 4 wings.. I did a call in order, tips sauce on the side, 4 wings sauce on side. So I pay for my order , 2 additional 50cent charges for sauce on the side. And an additional credit card fee. This is my second visit there at that restaurant.. so I paid for my order, and looked at the receipt and see the additional fees.. I asked the light skinned young lady with glasses a question.. I said to her I didn’t know it was a extra fee for sauce on the side.. then I said to her for future notice, when orders are being made you should let the customer know that’s it’s and additional charge.. for sauce on the side.. she apologized and says that’s how we charge…Ok she asked are you using cash or credit card.. I said card, she said ok swipe your card.. now it’s a charge to use the credit card machine as well. Did she say to use your card we charge a fee.. NO SHE DIDNT… future reference they need to let people know about extra fees .. GIVE PEOPLE A CHOICE IF THEY WANT TO PAY THE EXTRA FEES OR NOT…. So I get my food she didn’t even have any consideration, or care at all .. NEVER SAID THANK YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY.. just threw my food in the turn style and walked off.. will not come...

Food is absolutely phenomenal. The girl at the front is the rudest person on the face of the earth. Dumb & ignorant. When I called the order in (1 hr) ahead of time, I was immediately asked if I wanted to wait 25 min for the tips to be done. I said that was fine. She responded with, "You sure?!". I said, Yes I'm sure. Placed the order, showed up about 45 min later. She was now at the window, "your order isn't ready, do you still want it?". I responded with, Yes I'll wait. After about 20 min of waiting, I asked how much longer it would be. She responded with " You've only been here for 20 min, why you lying about waiting an hour?!" She got aggressive and started screaming at me. The cook (Eddie) came around from the back and was immediately apologetic. Save me from asking for a refund and storming out. But I felt the management should know the trash that is answering the phone and taking customers money. Just disrespectful for no reason. While waiting I heard her tell people on the phone that there were not more pork tips...but someone walked up and ordered a small pork tip & she...

Well this is more of just them making ribs and not really a true restaurant you have to carry it out I discovered this place because of our roommate who was ranting about this place the ribs are actually pretty good but if you're expecting to eat or dine in ambience-wise this is not the place as this is the tip of the West side of Chicago. Service was courteous someone named Michelle who either owns the place or works here give me a sample of the chicken turkey and the ribs before I bought. The ribs are good I didn't really care much for the turkey but the chicken was good my only disappointment why four out of five stars is that they did not have coleslaw only potato salad and I wasn't craving for that and I don't need any more carbs since I lost weight other than that little pricey for the large but I was that hungry for ribs they give you a separate sauce since it's dry rub tasting other than that that's my experience I have to now go home and eat it

This is a hard one… because on a good day, they have the best food around, I’d give them 5 stars. But I order the same thing twice a week. Large rib tip, chopped large, cooked soft with fries on the side and extra mild sauce. Half the time they forget the fries, the other half, they leave them on the bottom of the tips to get all soggy. Today, I decided to play it safe. I ordered an extra large fry on the side! It’s Saturday, I was going crazy. But then I get my order and the tips are burnt, they forget the large fry on the side. And I tried calling and there’s no answer. So I had no choice but to leave this review. Amazing food, just please stop messing up my order. Most of the tips were so burnt I gave em to my dog honestly. Good news is, I’m still hungry so I’ll try again tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Ps… when I say the tips are burnt… 25% of it was pretty decent. 25% was dry and the other half was completely unenjoyable.
