Alright, stop everything you’re doing and listen: Bamboo House is the new food haven in town, and I’m pretty sure they’re serving up the kind of magic that’s illegal in most states. This place is so good, it might make you rethink your entire existence. Like, I went in thinking I was just gonna have a meal, and I left feeling like I’d been personally blessed by the flavor gods. You know it’s good when you finish your meal and immediately regret not ordering two more because you’re just not ready to say goodbye to the food.
I had the noodles, and let me tell you, this wasn’t just a bowl of noodles, this was an out-of-body experience. Every bite felt like I was being transported to some mystical noodle paradise, and the texture? Chef’s kiss. Soft yet chewy, perfectly cooked like they were raised in a noodle boot camp. The sauce? Ohhh boy. It was so flavorful, I almost started licking my chopsticks like a madman (which, trust me, I would’ve done if I didn’t have to keep some shred of dignity in public). I was this close to starting a shrine out of my bowl because I was convinced it held the secret to the universe.
Now, my friends ordered the fried rice, and let me tell you, I’ve never seen anyone so happy to eat rice before. It was life-changing. The grains were so crispy, it was like they’d been personally trained by fried rice senseis. Each bite had that perfect balance of crispy and tender, and the flavors? So deep, so bold—I swear, every grain had a backstory. If fried rice were a sport, Bamboo House would be the Michael Jordan of fried rice. Peak excellence.
This was hands-down the best food we’ve had all week, and let’s be honest, it might be the best food we’ve had all month. I mean, if I were to draw a comparison, I’m pretty sure the noodles and rice were having a flavor celebration in my mouth, and I was just the lucky guest at the party. If food could get married, Bamboo House and I would have had a wedding ceremony right there in the dining room.
And I’m not even gonna get into the service, but I’ll say this: The staff here are so friendly, they make you feel like family. Like, at some point, I considered asking them if I could just move in and never leave. If this restaurant were a reality show, Bamboo House would be the MVP.
Listen, if you haven’t been yet, what are you even doing with your life? Bamboo House is the food equivalent of finding an extra fry at the bottom of the bag. You didn’t expect it, but once you’ve had it, you’re like, “Why didn’t I get this earlier?!” It’s the unexpected treat you didn’t know you needed until you did.
So here’s my official recommendation: Go. Go now. You won’t regret it. And if you do? Well, I’ll personally make you a shrine to apologize for leading you astray.
Five stars, but I’d give it six if I could. Just go. Trust me, your taste buds will start writing you thank-you notes, and you’ll be planning your next visit before you even finish your...
Read moreThis is a restaurant tour review, not intended for the general public. I ordered the Padang curry, the hot and sour soup and the chicken egg rolls. First off the hot and sour soup was good quality, most common is bland, not hot and not sour, they did a great job. The eggrolls seem to be made in house and fresh, albiet a pour from the bottle sweet-and-sour sauce, which is not a bad thing. The entree, Padang curry, might as well have been a water broth, muted in flavor, and something they would’ve never served their family or guest if they came to their home. If you’re ordering for delivery, I ordered soup, there was no spoon, if you believe I should’ve asked for one, there was no option, and no plate. If water based curry and rice from a to go container can be poured together to experience an entrée, when you have a roller coaster in a plastic bag. If this isn’t something that you prefer doing while traveling or vacationing, It’s pretty thoughtless for the consumer, and considering that simple oversight, is it consideration, they have of their product in your mouth. If you’re looking for authentic mainland Asia, Southeast Asia, or the islands of Southeast Asia, I have failed to find anything in the state after nine attempts. The Asian population in the Midwestern states is prolific, and I have had exceptional dining experiences in so many places from restaurants, to farmers markets, to back alley destinations. This, unfortunately, was not one of those...
Read moreFirst time at your restaurant! Staff was extremely friendly and the service was fast! Looking at your reviews, I was primarily interested in reading about the food quality. I must say, you had great reviews regarding the quality of your food. I ordered the Orange Chicken, which is deep fat fried. I'm really sorry to say guys that it was more like eating deep fat fried breading nuggets. Many of the breading nuggets contained no chicken. The ones that did contain chicken, the chicken was very very tiny. 20% chicken, 80% breading perhaps? Maybe even 10%/90%. I'm very sorry to share this with you, however, since I liked everything else about your restaurant, I'm hoping you change the recipe so that Orange Chicken is more like 80-90% chicken and 10-20% breading. It would allow the chicken to actually be tasted and would be much healthier as well. Like I say, I'd really like to come back, but the deep fat fried entrees would have to have far far less breading. I realize I shouldn't be eating deep fat fried food, if I want to eat healthy, but sometimes you have to treat yourself. Sorry guys,...
