Dixie Cream Donut Shop — Restaurant in West Frankfort

I'm giving this place for stars because I don't dine in anymore so I don't know what the place is like at this point I go in and grab cookies a dozen at a time and go you can get one at 2 you can get as many or few as you want that they have of course which is also another good reason why I should say three stars which if I remember I'm going to change it before I end this there always running out of the cookies that I want apparently despite demand or popularity they make the same amount of all the cookies every single time so they're making oatmeal raisin cookies but throwing most of them away and cookies like that which I can't remember off top my head but hardly anyone actually buys those but they don't cut the batch down and make less of those and more of the popular ones so they won't keep selling out or have people I can stuff come in and can't find...

Deli sandwiches were very tasty and filling. The Rye & wheat breads were delicious & fresh! The establishment was clean, and the display cases were visually stunning in their variety & arrangements. The staff was polite and efficient. On display were many local pictures as well as old news clippings of Coal Mining events from the area's past. The menu boards were neatly written & colorful. The donuts weren't overly sweet & had a very nice balance between the flavors. Wish I'd tried the blueberry or strawberry fritters if the deliciously balanced apple fritter was anything to judge them by! I wish the server had corrected me when I mentioned wanting the "toasted coconut" topped doughnut and had advised it wasn't topped w/toasted coconut. Not sure what it was, but it was very much enjoyed...

Every time I come here I leave mad. I have been coming here for over 30 years because they have the best donuts anywhere, but the employees are horrible and I can't believe the business stays open. Haven't had a warm donut here either since I was a kid. Always out of stuff, lie about prices, overcharge, illegally charge credit card fees without warning and when you complain they point at a generic sign that tells you nothing about the fee. They will force you to illegally block the sidewalk in the drive through and argue if you tell them you're not going to do that. I hate this place but can't avoid getting their cold donuts...
