Sally and Bob’s — Restaurant in West Hartford

Have been here a few times but we received unacceptable service today. We were sat and greeted with coffee, and we put in our very order shortly after. 45 minutes went by since we had put in our order, and we had no food, and no check in from our waiter. Several other tables that were seated after us, and ordered after us received their food during this time. Our waiter had walked passed us during this time upwards of 5 times and had no updates and didn’t bother to check in whatsoever. After over 45 minutes had passed we just went straight to the register and offered to pay for the coffees but let them know to just cancel the order (if it was ever even put in?). We didn’t have to pay for the coffees which was nice, but the only explanation provided was that there was a couple of “large parties” in the back. Given that statement, we are still at a loss of understanding how several other tables sat far after us got their food during that time? And why no one checked in with us? I get it, restaurants might be busy. Mistakes happen and maybe the food didn’t get put in? But at a minimum, communicate that with us and check in. You proved my point! You start by pretending to 'apologize' but quickly become defensive under the pretext of your 'policies' which shows lack of empathy and customer respect. You also have not read my review properly. I mentioned that "there was no place to stand in what you refer to as your 'long lobby'. Also you could have focussed less on responding to my review in a few minutes after I posted it and instead worked on the existing customers which would have increased your turnaround time and have made some space.

The next time, you could thank people like me who post honest reviews and help your business rather than getting defensive under the disguise of policies that you must amend if you want to survive.

Original review - Rude and nasty people! When there's a long wait, all we requested was if they can call or message when it's our turn. Since it was raining and there was no place to even stand, we could have been in the car, waiting. The guys straight up said a big 'No'.

No empathy, no respect for...

Came here once before today, food was subpar but decided to give it another chance with limited breakfast spots in town. Our family sat outside and patiently waited as we watched the server go to every table but ours. When a different server came and dropped waters for the table, we insisted we were ready to order. Unfortunately she could not take our order, only water deliveries to the table for her.

After about 15 mins of watching our server neglect to visit our table at all, we decided the service was just too horrible to continue. It was not even that busy at a little after 8am, no excuse for this. Not a “hello I will be right over” from the server or acknowledgement we were there at all. Definitely will never come back here and will strongly advise to anyone and everyone to stay away! As a small service industry establishment you must treat customers well, especially when your food is nothing special.
