Delamar West Hartford — Hotel in West Hartford

We love the Delamar West Hartford. The luxurious experience of staying at the Delamar starts before you even walk in the door. The valet staff are ready and waiting with a warm greeting and an offer to help with bags. The experience continues at the front desk, where professional and friendly staff check you in. The rooms are absolutely dreamy and always spotless. They have a 24hour tea and coffee bar with a coffee machine that will make you the most delicious mocha (or americano, cappuccino, etc). The on site gym is well equipped, and the spa will relax all your cares away. The restaurant in the hotel, called Artisan, has amazing food – the breakfast buffet will not disappoint! The Delamar is also centrally located to many great shops, and plenty of restaurants. If you have the chance, walk around and check out the town.

When it came to choosing a venue for our wedding, we knew the Delamar would be the perfect spot. The outdoor lawn area was excellent for holding our ceremony and cocktail hour. The ballroom was absolutely beautiful for the reception. The chefs at the Artisan made some seriously delicious meals for our guests, and the dessert trio was out of this world. Marisa Davis and Diana Ravita were the managers we worked with for our event. They were so kind and patient with us and the million questions we asked. We are truly thankful to them for helping to bring our wedding dreams to life. Every single member of the Delamar and Artisan staff is incredible. EVERY SINGLE ONE. I have never been anywhere with a staff as welcoming and competent as the Delamar & Artisan. We really would love to give some shout outs to the wonderful people who helped make our day amazing: Banquet manager Debbie Collins, assistant manager Yineli Diaz, all of the awesome banquet team members: Maggie O’Brien, Josh Holmen, Cameron Fisher, and Brendan Restelli, the talented bartender Alex MacNamara and the hardworking bar back Daniel Markham. We also would like to shout out the incredible bartender at the Artisan, Steve, who worked late at our after party and made us feel like rockstars. The Delamar/Artisan team truly were amazing and made the day go so smoothly for us. We thank you with our entire heart!

As a person that frequents hotels, the Delamar is by far the WORST experience. For a hotel that’s so expensive, you would expect exemplary customer service and hospitality, however that’s FAR from the truth at this hotel. My cousin booked multiple rooms for the last weekend of August for her entire bridal party. The purpose of the hotel stay was for her and now husband to spend time apart the night before and day of the wedding. Additionally, she planned to use the space for the bridal party to get ready for the wedding and furthermore allow guests who were traveling far to spend the night. While we were getting ready for the wedding, one guest constantly complained that we were playing music too loud and leaving/ entering our rooms too often during the DAYTIME. This particular guest even had the NERVE to knock on our room door to complain to us. Other guests complained that the groomsmen were smoking in the room however this was not true. Thankfully the manager during the daytime was understanding and informed us that the bride & groom would be upgraded to a suite. This manager instructed us to pack up all of our belongings and set our bags in the corner of the room so that staff members could transport the bags into the upgraded room when we returned. This particular manager specifically did this because he did not want to intrude with the wedding day. We were thankful for this. However, when we returned to the hotel after the wedding, the manager at night was extremely racist, disrespectful, and inconsiderate. I’m not sure if there was lack of communication among the staff or if this manager was just blatantly racist and judgmental. This manager refused to allow the bridal party to obtain their belongings in the rooms that was PAID for. The manager accused us of throwing a party and even called the cops on us. He accused us of “fighting” when we were just voicing our opinion. We knew we were being racially profiled when a group of white folks walked into the hotel without incident. Til this day, the hotel refuses to refund my cousin for the room that was not used and refuses to provide her a copy of the hotel footage.

Save your money, go elsewhere and do NOT support this RACIST hotel.

I honestly don’t even know where to begin… words truly don’t do justice to the gratitude I feel for the entire staff at the Delamar West Hartford. From the moment I walked into the lobby, I knew this was where my husband and I were going to get married. Yes, the hotel is absolutely stunning, modern, elegant, and perfectly located but that was just the beginning of what made our experience so unforgettable.

The staff is what truly sets this venue apart. From the day we booked until well after the wedding, we felt cared for every single step of the way. A very special shoutout to Erin, who was a true gem throughout our engagement. I asked a million little questions, and she never once made me feel like any of them were silly. She was always warm, responsive, and greeted us like family every time we visited. Her kindness and attentiveness made us feel so special.

And then there’s Debbie — what an absolute star. I didn’t meet her until our tasting a month or two before the wedding, but she quickly became one of the most essential people during our wedding weekend. Debbie handled everything with such care and professionalism, all while making us feel like we had another trusted family member by our side. She anticipated our needs, shielded us from any stress, and made sure we could truly enjoy every moment.

Also, a huge thank you to the chef and culinary team, the food was absolutely phenomenal. It’s been weeks, and our guests still can’t stop talking about how delicious everything was.

The Delamar made our wedding weekend feel like a dream, and I will forever be grateful for the love and care they poured into every detail. If you’re considering them for your wedding or any special event… do it. It was, hands down, the best...
