La Scarpetta Italian Grill & Pizzeria — Restaurant in West Long Branch

We’ve been to this place a few times, and I just went again. We had slices of pepperoni pizza, escarole and beans, fried shrimp, and meatballs. All the dishes were excellent and met my expectations!

The pizza has a New York-style taste but is served in New Jersey—really tasty! They also have a variety of pizza slices, as you can see in the pictures.

The appetizers were great! The fried shrimp came with a delicious tartar sauce that tasted homemade.

The meatballs were soft, with a slight crisp, and paired with excellent tomato sauce—very impressive!

The escarole and beans are my partner’s favorite dish here (he’s Italian), and it’s done perfectly.

The garlic knots are my absolute favorite from this place. I don’t think I’ll ever find another spot that tastes similar—unbeatable! Highly recommend!

There’s also a bakery next door owned by the owner’s wife. Be sure to check it out after dinner!

Not your typical "pizza place". It is nicely decorated inside, very nice atmosphere. The staff here are on point, very attentive and quick. I got Chicken Saltimboca and my wife got Salmon salad. Both were delicious and generous portions so we took some home. We also got pasta with shrimp and Farfalle con pollo, plus a chicken strombolli for us and kids to have next day and that was all really good. They were having an "all you can eat" brunch on Sunday when we went. Lots of great looking options for a brunch, including fresh made juices and pastries, plus things like eggs, sausage, bacon, ham, hash browns, and lunch items like chicken, shrimp, fried fish, pastas, even nuggets for kids. The owner was nice and let me try a meatball which of course very tasty. They also have a bakery attached and everything there looked amazing. I am a frequent visitor to La Scarpetta I happen to be single ! I wouldn't choose another place other than here to have Italian food. Of course, when I'm not around my area in which I live, I go to other places. If you who are reading this review, please go there and order! Bring your girlfriend, boyfriend and, or the entire family, and you will experience the feeling that the entries, appetizers, deserts, don't forget the pizza, all make La Scarpetta a hidden treasure, and you have to read my review, get the directions and just GO. If you are not familiar with where this restaurant is located, or the strip mall at which it is located, I not only hope that you will, I strongly recommend that, if you live within 5 or 25 miles from here, please go and try it !
