I LOVE Genova's food. However, this salad cost $16.25 on Doordash (and $13 on their website). Please explain how this is a salad worth over $16. No meat on it. Just lettuce with feta and some veggies. I can't justify more than 3 stars for this price when it's little more than a side salad. Edit to Genova's reply: I specifically stated the salad was lettuce and veggies and feta with no meat. That is what it is on your website regardless of what I ordered. My review specifically states what you sell (lettuce and veggies and cheese) for the price you sell. I never said the salad was only lettuce. My picture also shows a salad with lettuce, cucumbers, pepperoncinis, and feta, so why would I claim it's just lettuce? Also, your site says it comes with croutons and it NEVER comes with crouton. I certainly would not omit those from my order. So for that, I'm a taking another 1/2 star off. Even without the ingredients I take off, it is still ridiculously overpriced. Here's another thought, if someone orders a salad which is simply placing raw ingredients on top of other raw ingredients, you don't charge them for those ingredients. But let's examine the cost of DoorDash vs your site. I've attached photos of the same order on DoorDash and your site. (I pay for the DoorDash pass which is $96.00 per year and I order at least once a week... definitely more, but let's make it easy...so that's $1.84 per order, so we'll include that in the final cost. And I'm not including tip for this.) On your site my order costs me $24.01, which includes all the extra fees YOU add on. DoorDash costs me $23.62 with all extra fees. So your website with the "lower cost" is not saving customers anything since you're making up the difference in other fees. And for that, I'm taking off 1/2 star again since your reply was meant to "put me in my place" but was, in fact, misleading bordering on lying.

I use to eat at this place back in the 1990’s the pizza at that time was extra good. Today I used the drive through, the wait time after my 10 minute drive felt like it took forever and the food was ok. I asked for a 2 Philadelphia cheese Steaks but it was like they took the meat that should have been in one and put it in the 2 of them. It had no green peppers, no mushrooms and the bread it was put in would have been nice for a sub, but not a Philadelphia cheese-steak and practically no flavor. I don’t like to be overly critical however it’s about a 3 Hour Drive. from where I live to Philadelphia may be someone at this establishment should take the drive to Philadelphia to get a cheesesteak to know what it should taste like I am very disappointed.

I have been back several times since my first review. Here is what is new... the first time I have seen a table cleared by Sam. And boy, he cleans a table !throughly!! Wiping the pages in the menus, salt and pepper dispensers and all!! This young man takes pride in what he does. Always has the friendliest smile and makes you feel like family. I always enjoy seeing Sam. Usually We tell eachother jokes and have fun small talk, he is a joy. Thank you Sam. We had pizza... as you can see, the two uf us ate pizza and drank beer. Good times in West York! Always the best. Just love this place

Beware! If they mess up your order they will blame you for it! I had been going here for lunch with my parents for years. I decided to stop in with my kids and friend one day. Long story short, I ordered a lunch special cheeseburger sub. When it arrived it had it had all of this pizza sauce on it. I thought hmm this is weird so I told the waitress. She immediately got defensive and insisted that their cheeseburger subs have sauce on them and it is their house special, and I had to deal with it basically because I didn't read it correctly . So I looked at their menu and it did not say that. When I showed her she became aggressive and defensive. She was like I took it off your bill!! If money is the issue (which was sooo condescending). What's the problem? I said I wanted a sandwich I'm still hungry lol but forget it. I was afraid of what she would do to it as this point. To add insult to injury, she must have bad mouthed me before I got to the front to pay because her manager/ boss received me with the stinkiest attitude. I said excuse me, I was charged an extra 5$. She was like we charged you for the fries on your plate that came with the sandwich. I was like really? I want the sandwich then because it's only 3 dollars more. Plus I looked at my receipt and saw that the waitress rung in a PIZZA BURGER hence the reason for the sauce that she argued was their house cheeseburger sub. The manager responded by saying, I'll just take off the fries then. And when I told her what her waitress did she said dryly, " well if she did THAT I apologize" . I walked out of there feeling like I got punished for their mistake. I don't care how long my family has been going there. It obviously means nothing to them. I won't...

Such a shame that this restaurant is allowed to carry the Genova’s name. They certainly do not live up to the standards of any of the other Genova’s locations. They tarnish the Genova’s reputation.

This evening we were seated for dinner when we were told by one of the owners to move to another table. We stated that we didn’t wish to move. Mind you, it was my partner, myself and my 85-year-old mobility-challenged mother.

Our drinks and salads were served. The salad plates were cleared and we were provided bread plates. It was now 6:00 and a large party was arriving to take over this section of the restaurant.

The other owner of the restaurant came to our table and told (not asked) us to move to another table. We explained that we are in the middle of our dinner and not moving. At this point, he said “Get out of my restaurant, you disrespected my wife by not moving, get out.” I pulled him aside and explained to him that it is difficult to move my Mother and his response was “I don’t care, get out.”

We left the restaurant to go elsewhere. We have been loyal customers of this restaurant for years. Even thru several times of being disrespected by his wife as well as dealing with her condescension, we still came back. Even thought they do not adhere to COVID protocols (and really never did), we came back.

We will never be back. I have never been so publicly...
