My wife and I had the pleasure of dining at The Fish House’s newest location in West Monroe, and we couldn’t be more impressed. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by several friendly young ladies from our local community — a welcoming touch that instantly made us feel at home.
After some pleasant conversation, we were seated in the beautifully appointed West Monroe Room. Our waitress, Anna, was attentive, knowledgeable, and personable. She offered some great recommendations, and we followed her lead: my wife enjoyed the classic fried catfish, while I opted for the grilled catfish over jambalaya, paired with turnip greens and a side salad.
The food was absolutely top-tier — the grilled fish and jambalaya were perfectly seasoned, and the turnip greens were some of the best I’ve ever had. The flavors were bold yet balanced, and every bite made it clear that the kitchen knows what it’s doing.
To top it all off, the owner personally stopped by our table to thank us for dining with them — a gesture that truly underscored the level of care and hospitality they bring to the table.
It was a fantastic experience from start to finish. Great food, great service, and a local touch that makes all the difference. We will...
Read moreI had a fried oyster poboy and it tasted so burnt. I couldn't even get the waitresses attention. Once I made her aware she just walked away from the table without saying anything other than just staring at me. I had to go find her to tell her I didnt want another one & I wanted to switch entrees, because the other fried foods we ordered had a terrible flavor to them. We were pretty excited because it's right by our house and I've heard pretty good things about their main store, but they have a lot of work to do. I've been in the hospitality industry my entire adult life. The service staff seemed to be very disengaged and the waitress we had not only wasn't knowledgeable, but was hard to even get her to come to our table. It was a horrendous experience. It is probably worth a 1 star for the experience, but I gave it 2 stars for the venue and being so new. 3.2 with almost 30 reviews is incredibly bad. That many terrible reviews being that new points to a management team that is in over their head. Hopefully they can...
Read moreI’m normally not one to publicly complain or even leave reviews… But… my husband and I ate here this weekend.. we knew they were abnormally high with their prices, but was hoping to just get an excellent meal. Firstly, we ordered the “sweet tater STRINGS” for appetizer… $8.50 for maybe a small handful of sweet potato fries(not strings) that were soggy, and barely enough for one person, let alone 2. Secondly, my hubs ordered the Pick 3(Oysters, shrimp and catfish) plate, $27..the amount of food was laughable (and sad) My Blackened combo $21 (catfish and shrimp) was good.. but minimal… the plates do not come with hushpuppies( like most seafood places) you have to pay extra for those. And, they charge for water.. the description they give on their menu of the items are very misleading. While the food wasn’t horrible, the prices and the...
