So we waited a month for them to get all the kinks worked out. Seems they haven’t gotten there yet.
We came in the door to what looked like a hostess station that was unmanned. After stand there with 2 other groups I acknowledged for 5 minutes we moved into the dining room where there was a counter with a young lady behind it that didn’t bother to acknowledge us either. One of the other couples finally got her to speak long enough to say she’d have to get the head server to figure out what I do with their reservation.
We unfortunately did t get the memo that reservations were now required. No worries, once someone finally spoke with us…(15 minutes after coming in) we found a table in the lounge. Once in there it was 5 minutes before someone managed to drop off a couple of menus and let us know tha our server would be by.
This is when we met Key. She is the main reason this isn’t a 1 star review. She did a great job.
We both ordered the New York strips one with baked and one with Brussels sprouts. Once they arrived we found them to be prepared properly. The potato and Brussels sprouts were very good. Unfortunately chefs aren’t magicians. They can’t turn gristle into prime beef. If you want to be a high end steak house in the 3rd largest beef producing state in the nation, you need to serve prime beef. If the steaks we got were sold to you as prime, you need to get a new distributer. My steak was a bit above average. My wife’s was bordering on complete scrap. It was more than half waste.
I counted no less than 5 servers and at least 2 bartenders on staff. It still took far too long to turn and bus tables etc.
We are foodies that have and do travel the country/world. I have also worked as a server and chef in a steak house. I had such high hopes for this place. Unfortunately on this first try they fell flat. We will wait a couple of months and try again but at the price one more shot is all they will get. We ran into a neighbor who is a beef farmer. They were more disappointed than we were.
This is completely bougie, but the flatware was the cheapest and flimsiest stuff...

You better get thicker skin if your going to run a business, you'll have to endure criticism and negative feedback at times. It won't always be sunshine and rainbows. You're clearly too sensitive to truth and possess far too much pride. I'm sorry you confuse facts and truth with feelings. Your food quality was absolutely horrific, you can clearly tell there is no care about where you source your food from and your establishment was very filthy and very unappealing. Stop acting like a small child and realize that these reviews are here for a reason. You're entitled to your feelings but feelings aren't facts and it doesn't make you right. I would starve over eating what was brought out to me by your restaurant, the lack of cleanliness alone was worrisome. I actually hope the health department sees this and steps in, in fact, I feel I should just call them and let them know what all I saw... you should be inspected. Again, that's a fact not a feeling.
I don't know how this place can even call itself a restaurant. Our table was dirty where we were sat. We were so disgusted by what they brought out, it was inconceivable. It wasn't even food and the audacity to charge what they do is laughable. There is not a single good restaurant in this area and I cannot believe you good people put up with this. Dev's you need to do better, and by better you should just close. It's time to WAKE UP and take a stand for you and your families, neighbors abd friends, together as a community. Demand better quality, ethics and morality from these places and show them by your wallet. Stop spending your hard earned money on trash and start making...
Read moreUpdate: After leaving this review, the manager stalked me on social media and sent me unwanted messages. How about instead of deleting unflattering reviews and trying to intimidate people, you actually put effort into your business so that you can avoid these reviews in the first place?
I was very excited when I heard that a piano bar was opening in this town. It is sorely needed, and would be a welcome addition to the culture of West Plains.
Dev's Steakhouse is not it.
We ended up waiting about 10 minutes at the front door, because the hostess' station was empty. None of the servers were even paying attention to the people who came in, to the point where it felt like they were intentionally ignoring us. After we were seated, we waited even longer for anyone to come by and give us menus. Several of the servers were under the age of 18, which made the whole ordeal worse because they weren't able to carry the alcohol, making an already crowded bar (crowded by employees, not customers) even more chaotic.
The manager did nothing to manage. In what is supposed to be a presentably fashionable establishment, the manager on duty (the owner?) was sitting around in her sweatpants playing darts. The servers were unprepared, untrained, and the manager was more focused on enjoying herself than trying to run a legitimate business.
I am so disappointed that this is the place that found its way to West Plains. This town deserves so much better, but unfortunately the management isn't interested in improving. I feel so bad for anyone who has the misfortune of working here, because it is clear that nobody involved in the ownership of this business has any idea how to train or operate this establishment. They only appear to be interested in having their name outside of...
