Not normally one to leave a review, but as a foodie, this place is too fantastic to not leave a review. First off, great location and great atmosphere. Convenient location to get to being right off the square and the inside is very cozy. They’ve done such a good job with the vibe of the place. Charcoal walls with the wood and the vines, superb. The staff were super friendly and they made the food incredibly quick. Speed of service is clearly a priority. Speaking of the food, it was simply fantastic. I had a cheeseburger with steak fries and my aunt had the BBQ burger. The burger tasted fantastic, and it wasn’t such a huge portion that you felt stuffed, but not small enough you felt unsatisfied. It gives off the same familiarity and taste as McDonald’s, but it doesn’t make you hate yourself afterwards lol. It just tastes better and you actually feel good eating it. They also cook everything just behind the counter so you can see everything going on with your particular order, which is a nice touch :). As for the price point, it’s simply excellent. I would argue it even beats out a lot of fast food chains if you’re someone who needs to eat on the go a lot. They also serve different kinds of coffees for morning people too. So for a quick meal or something you’re looking to get on the go, or if you want a place to sit down and do some work while you eat, there simply isn’t any reason you shouldn’t go to this place. It fits every situation and lifestyle, and the food is amazing at a great price point. I will be back. 10/10....
Read moreStopped by on our way out of town after visiting family in Arkansas. It's a cute little place, very modern and they've done a great job with the decor and the atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The coffee was great. We both had omeletes, one sausage omelette and one bacon omelette. They just weren't like any omeletes we'd ever had. Unfortunately, not in a really good way. Basically the omeletes were just fried eggs that were very overdone and brown on the outside.. very dried out. Nothing inside the "omelette". Sausage links and bacon were served on the side. My sausage links were good, but my wife's bacon was very chewy and not crispy at all, so she couldn't eat it. The platters came with a really nice hash of some type and a nice salad with feta cheese which was good. But the omeletes themselves, which really should be the star of the show, just weren't good at all. I feel really bad leaving this review, because the people were very nice and I loved the coffee and the atmosphere, but that's just not really how omeletes should be served. So I'd give it a five stars if the omeletes weren't brown and crunchy. Also, it would be nice if there was a gluten-free option or two for people like my wife who are gluten intolerant. I know that's not something restaurants like to do all the time, but it's a really big plus when a place has a gluten-free option or two. They had what looks like a really good lunch menu, so I might go back for a lunch offering next time I'm through town. Definitely worth...
Read moreIn the best way possible, I'm having a hard time staying away from Craft Cafe. West Plains has been so greatly edified with this new addition and it is very nice to have another downtown option as we've needed more restaurants downtown. Though typically it's hard to give Five stars when writing a review, I've seen so many good restaurants come and go in my over Fifteen years of living and growing up here. This place deserves to stay and stay regardless of future competition. And as I look at this family who came here all the way from Ukraine, what better way to welcome them in than to keep the business coming and support local.
The Food, service, and Atmosphere all are top notch. Though I've not had the breakfast yet, I am hoping to soon. The burgers and Hot Dogs are all so good and yet so simple at the same time. Another great addition is the Mojitos and fresh squeezed juices. Given it's been such a hot summer, this was such a great idea. Even if there was a reason to critique service, they are doing the best they can with what they have. The atmosphere is small but cozy. I always enjoy the smells.
Like any small business, obstacles will come. This place as any would benefit from catering. Though the eye on simplicity is so particular, I'm also anxious to see what other new things they bring down the road and I think this plus the abundance of so many good things which have fell into place already will keep them up and going for years to come.
