Update, 10/2024: Worst service ever. We ate in the hibachi area for our son's birthday on Monday, as has been our tradition for the past 4 years with multiple family members. We have 5 kids and visit Raku many times / year.
NOW, they are charging a 20% "service fee" for parties over 4 people. Ridiculous. It's like a mandatory "tip". The dishes are already exorbitantly priced now.
The service was embarrassingly SLOW. We were ready to walk out when they brought my appetizer. Another 10+ minutes went by before they brought soup and salad for the entrees. It was another 15+ minutes for the hibachi chef to come out and begin cooking. The server was very rude and disrespectful.
The hibachi chef was completely incompetent. It's like the normal hibachi chef(s) were not available so they asked the dishwasher to come out and cook. He didn't do the whole routine. He was very sloppy in preparing the food. A lot was wasted. To begin with, they have shrunk the portion sizes while increasing the prices. Some ingredients were missing.
Overall, we regretted coming to this restaurant for this special occasion. It was not worth the money we paid. Even if they offered a 50% off deal, it would still be over-priced. Maybe Gordon Ramsay can come and talk some sense into the owner about how to run a restaurant and who to hire.
From my perspective, they owe us a free meal due to the way they ruined our special occasion last night... If we go there again and get the same crappy experience, we are done and will let all of our friends and neighbors (and 1000s of people on social media) know that this place sucks now.
Original Review, 2021: The manager is SUPER high energy with a happy attitude. The food is great. Service is great. Very fast and convenient. ...

Busy waiting area when we came in and we're randomly pulled from the middle of the line to speak to the greeter and asked if we had a reservation (which we did) despite being towards the end of the line we were sat immediately and never asked for our name which ticked off several people who had walked in ahead of us who had not been greeted at all.
I think half of those people walked out the door after not being greeted at all as the the restaurant was only sat to maybe 15% of capacity, and everyone in the waiting area looked very unhappy. Maybe 7 tables in the whole dining room were filled. we waited about 45 minutes until we had to flag someone down to get us drinks and our order,
We ordered and waiting another 45-50 minutes at which point people who came in after us were leaving the dining room.
We flagged down someone who was bringing food to another table that had been sat just 20 minutes ago, watched the sushi table scramble to prepare our order and finally got all food at once.
Upon leaving we asked the man at the desk if it was a busy night and he complained that everyone comes in all at once at 6-7 and no one comes in during the day time.
My boyfriend called directly to say something to the owner the next day and again the owner repeatedly complained that everyone comes in all at once at dinner time and they are very empty at lunch. No listening to our experience or apology.
I was actually laughing at the table at how disorganized and poor the management and service was, food was fine but the management is going to put them out of business very...
Read moreI went to Raku Hibachi & Sushi on a Saturday evening for their all-you-can-eat sushi, which is listed at $26 — not including tax or tip. At that price, I expected at least decent quality, but what I got was incredibly disappointing.
First, while it's somewhat understandable that sashimi costs an extra $1 per order, the sushi itself was shockingly poor. The fish was sliced paper-thin, barely present in most pieces, and completely overwhelmed by the rice. The worst example was the tobiko sushi — there was so little roe on top it couldn’t even cover the rice. It looked like a plain rice ball with a few sprinkles on top.
Honestly, the quality here was worse than what you'd find at a low-end buffet sushi bar. When you factor in the extra charges, this meal ended up costing me $36 total — including tax and tip. I still left a tip out of respect for the waitstaff, who were doing their job, but the food itself was simply not worth the price. You’re essentially paying premium pricing for buffet-level food.
Extremely disappointing experience. I do not...
