Country Pride — Restaurant in West Virginia

As a team truck driver, I often stop at TA locations and usually appreciate the convenience of their services. However, my recent experience at the Country Pride Restaurant in Valley Grove was quite disappointing.

Before arriving, I tried calling three times to place a to-go order, but no one answered the phone. When I got to the location, my co-driver began fueling, and I went inside to place our food order. I politely asked the staff to prepare two items and mentioned we would pay separately once my co-driver came in, using our individual $17 UltraOne meal tickets. Unfortunately, the staff refused, saying they wouldn’t begin cooking until payment was made.

I understood and agreed to proceed with only my own order and handed over my meal ticket. However, when they tried to void the second item, the staff member seemed unsure how to do it, possibly due to being new. Then, another woman came over and very rudely said, “This is very ridiculous.” I was quite shocked by the tone, especially since I had been speaking calmly and respectfully the entire time.

I reminded them that I tried calling ahead and just wanted to modify the order based on the situation. As a paying customer, I expected a bit more courtesy and understanding, especially in a professional setting. I understand everyone can have a tough day, but respectful communication goes a long way—both ways.

I hope management takes this feedback seriously and provides better training and customer service support...

I would LOVE to Give the Best Review! But Alas? On 6/24!! Arrived at 1600 ! Went in for Dinner at 1920 !.. NO SIGNS OR INDICATION CLOSING EARLY!! At 1920 ?!! Signs posted at every Door! (Country Pride Closing at 1700 , reopen at 0600).. Asked "WTH" TOLD "Its too Hot outside!!!!!!!!" Hey TA ! Can you change your Website to include "OUTSIDE TEMP OPENING HOURS??".. Like ?:: open 0600 to 2000 , Only if Outside Temps don't exceed ????????? !... (Glad the Store prepped, Sarcasm, Total THREE roller dogs, 1 OMG burrito , and ?? ). I grabbed one of the three Roller Dogs !..lmfao ! NO CHILI. NO CHEESE !.. Thanks TA !.. My heros ! Hot outside !.. YEP! We live in a Big Box that heats up like a "EASY BAKE OVEN" .. Glad a meal was available for the 100+ drivers!...(sarcasm).. Cause...

After coming in I sat down took 11 min for someone to come out the back and help me and another customer I asked for a Cesar salad waiter told me that they didn’t have the proper lettuce for a Cesar but she could make me a regular salad and it would be like a Cesar then said but we also don’t have the dressing…. Ok so tell me how it will be the same…?? I ended up with a Cobb and a side salmon. The eggs they put on the salad were partially frozen the salmon had absolutely no seasoning on it. When I asked what it was seasoned with she told me probably nothing. I didn’t get a drink refil at all until after she dropped the bill and I had to wave her down.
