Las Trancas Mexican Cantina — Restaurant in West Virginia

Really great place, very very clean. They disinfect the menus each use. Staff is super professional. Better then most places around here. Whole feel was very upscale. The decor was done super well, who ever designed it did an amazing job.

Food was also very very good. Salsa actually had some bite and so did the guacamole. Was a nice change compared to the typically catered to the elderly who don't like their food to have any seasoning. I ordered a chimichanga and it was also very good, cleaned the plate. Only suggestion is to order the cheese sauce on the side rather than on it so the fried shell stays crisp.

The only thing that was kind of a let down was the flan, making it one of the worst I've had and I love flan. Though I can only assume it may have been an off night for it and won't know until I try it again.

Over all though I highly recommend this place, this is the best Mexican food you can get in the area hands down. And the decor is one of the best you can find at well, rivaling even...

Lets start with the good ...the food was tasty, excellent queso dip. Soda was cold even without ice. Now the bad... Host was polite but seemed lost at 1st. Given dirty silverware 4X ! This is a critical violation for health department rules btw. Asked for a cup of hot water after the 2nd set of dirty silverware was given so I could clean and sanitize it myself. Waiter ignored my request , took my silverware from me and sent manager to me with 2 more sets of dirty silverware . Not water spots, food particles. Finally gave up and asked for to go box . Receipt prices did not match menu prices. Manager tried to say prices included tax but receipt showed tax on seperate line. After I explained this the manager ignored my ?'s and gave me a few dollars off the bill without explaining it until I asked again. I will not be...

We have several Mexican restaurants to choose from in our area. It’s kind of the running joke when a new place starts getting built, will it be a New Mexican restaurant or a new car wash lol. Anyway of all the ones here in Parkersburg this one is my favorite. We ate here tonight and our server was greeted us quickly, I’m a little picky with my tea and always get it “half-cut”, it was perfect. I always look forward to the chips and salsa which came out promptly after being seated. I ordered the pollo loco because it seems somewhat healthy, it was a big portion and tasted great.
