Long John Silver's — Restaurant in West Virginia

10/10 do not recommend. I basically forced my husband into eating LJs this afternoon and as soon as we stepped inside.. instant regret. But at that point it was too late I couldn’t admit I was wrong and ask to go somewhere else so we ordered. Their food was good. But that restaurant is absolutely disgusting. I don’t at all understand how that place could pass any health department inspection. Im sure the workers do their best to clean, but it goes beyond cleaning. It smells TERRIBLE the moment you walk in. Several ceiling tiles stained and rotting away, gunk all on their floors, the windows were so disgusting you could see the filth on them. I used the bathroom before we left, which is when I realized that’s where the god awful smell was coming from. I felt dirtier walking out of that bathroom than I did when I first stepped into it. I have no complaints about the food or the service but strictly the cleanliness. I truly can’t get over how disgusting that place was. It was hands down the nastiest restaurant I’ve ever been in. I in no way expected anything fancy. Ive been to long johns sooo many times, but usually through drive thru. Now I understand the memes and tiktoks asking who’s keeping Long John’s in business. Before today I’d proudly say “ Me 🙋🏻‍♀️”. There’s no way I’d ever eat there again. If that’s how the customer areas of the restaurant look and smell, I can’t even IMAGINE the kitchen.

Well truthfully had a "highly dissatisfied," experience with my visit to the Barboursville Long Johns today. The three (3) rating today is to recognize and give credit for how today is not my normal experience as I am somewhat of a regular customer. Now if you like soggy French fries Long John Silvers is your place. If you request nothing different they will be cooked to perfection for you IF you are someone who likes soggy French fries. I am not someone who likes soggy French fries so I ALWAYS order my fries extra crispy or "well done." Although I lnow Tiffanee communicated my request I arrived home with the soggy fries I do not like and no coleslaw but the manager did offer to refund my meal so I am going to accept her offer to make things right and intend on continuing to be a loyal regular customer because the staff like Tiffanee are always be helpful and friendly. I had ate LJS over in south point a couple weeks ago and it was so good so I wanted it again. it was ok here but wasn't the same. Just not cooked long enough and not as fresh. I hadn't been to this one in a long time and I really like LJS.
