The wife and I have been coming to this establishment for about a year now. It seems every since the owners opened up a new restaurant in Inwood, the quality of the food preparation has dropped considerably. Whether its breakfast, lunch or dinner, the food comes out lukewarm or cold altogether. Part of your meal will be missing. For example some breakfast plates include toast as part of the meal. Our experience has been approximately 50% of the time you never get the toast when the meal is served and you have to ask the waitress for it to receive it. Asking for it doesn't mean you will receive it at all. Sometimes you will receive your toast when you have already finished your meal. We have received meals that were partially cold or completely cold. The wait staff are always accomodating in trying to rectify the problem.
Whether its breakfast, lunch or dinner its hard for two people to eat for less than $35 without any dessert or a tip. So, expectations by most patrons of this establishment are higher than average. The clientele that frequents this establishment are mostly baby boomers and seniors who do know what a hot meal is.
Baby boomers being what they are, are still capable of noticing when things are not right. For example, wait staff becomes preoccupied with bussing tables and leave orders waiting at the kitchen window to get cold. Kitchen staff using cell phones. A one armed cook then has to cut corners in food preparation. For example, potatoes are sliced whole versus diced which increases cooking time while still producing limp soggy potatoes. These are not homes fries. Toast orders just fall through the cracks. Could it be the logic to this is...who eats toast these days? Or is it a labor issue where the kitchen says its the wait staff job to make toast while the wait staff says its the kitchen's responsibility? Bacon that is on the rare side. Eggs are overcooked or undercooked. How does someone overcook a pancake? Gravy that comes out lukewarm and so lumpy that you have to wash it down with a glass of something.
In a nutshell, quality food preparation and presentation is seriously lacking. The wait staff needs help with the bussing of tables so they can focus on taking and delivering the orders quickly, correctly and hot to the patrons. The restaurant is clean and the wait staff doing the best with what they have to work with. Consistency has gone from good to bad. Good consistency is what makes any business successful.

Read moreThis was my first time at this popular diner. A friend and I went for breakfast. It wasn't her first time here and she was anxious for me We had a short wait to be seated and prompt service. Our server was attentive and so very polite. I ordered a mushroom and cheese omelette, home fries, rye toast and coffee. My friend ordered a giant pancake with sausage or bacon and coffee. We agreed that the food was delicious and plentiful! It seems most Berkeley county folks prefer Breakfast blend coffee but I like a dark, rich roast so, next time I'll order hot tea. My next visit will be better than my first!
Here you will experience a bright, family oriented atmosphere with, breakfast buffet option, bar type counter for a quick bite and table seating for small and large groups. I've been here for lunch and dinner now. If you order the Yuengling Fish, you'll be happy because it's a big ole piece of fish! It tastes delicious. Order the Lemon Meringue pie for dessert, it's good too! This is a good place for groups, there were 9 of us and we had a great time, great service and great food. Lunch Break! On this Friday, I had the Yuengling Fish again, it was a special with Stewed Tomatoes and Mac and Cheese. I set aside the Mac and Cheese to order the fantastic Mashed Potatoes. For dessert, I ordered the Lemon Meringue pie again. Nothing has changed since my last visit, service is still enviable. This is a pleasant place to...
Read moreLoved this place used to go every wing night. Then we decided to change it up for awhile. Today we decided to go back boy do we regret that. Wings were cold quesdillas were cold and dry. That's not even all of it they don't have a kids price for buffet which we thought they used. No big deal we'll just order off the kids menu for her, well that was a mistake it took them atleast 25 to 30 mins to make a micro wavable pizza and French fries. We like to eat as a family and don't like eating in front of a child because then they start wondering where there food is and why there not getting to eat. Also while we were sitting there eating there was a couple near by that did the same thing we did with the whole kids menu thing but the mother decided to give there child a little tiny bit of salad because they were taking so long and the waitress comes running over and tells them there being charged for the buffet because he had some salad. To top all off the waitress was the worst waitress I've ever had very rude gave my grandma dirty looks, she never said a word to her. We said thank you and was polite as could be to her. She couldn't even get drinks and I would totally understand if it were busy but there was hardly anybody on her side. We will...
