La Casita — Restaurant in West Warwick

This was my first time going and i will never go back! I wanted to support this business because they are family owned and new BUT they are so unorganized and do not take accountability for their mistakes.

I order fried pork and fried plantains - the girl said it’s a few min wait which was no problem. So i sat and waited. I then saw a customer come in who said they called and made an order, they did not have her order because they forgot to make it. My food was done cooking and the girl wrapped it up but instead of giving it to me they gave it to the other customer. I heard the cashier say in Spanish that the food was supposed to be for her (pointed at me) but was given to the other customer.

In my head i was like whatever not a big deal I’m not gonna say nothing and just wait because i know they are doing the best they can.

So then they made another batch of food for my order. My food was done cooking, the girl(cashier) wrapped it up and instead of giving it to me, she gave it to another walk in customer……..

That’s when i confronted her and ask how long am i going to be waiting? (It’s been 20-30min at this point for food that should’ve took no longer than 10min). She said “just a few more minutes” i told her “i saw you gave my food away twice” and instead of apologizing, she said oh i don’t know nothing about that, that was the cook. I said no, i know you gave it away because you literally said in Spanish to make my order 2TIMES to the cook in the back.

Long story short, they gave away my order twice in front of me then acted dumb when i confronted them. Thinking i don’t know Spanish, I AM PUERTO RICAN. I understood everything.

Similar to other West Warwick restaurants, La Casita offered great food, exceptional service, and fair prices. Please, do not disregard on other perceptions. West Warwick has some of the best food in the state at reasonable prices.

La Casita is no exception. My wife, son, and I recently visited and had an outstanding experience. The plantains rivaled some that we've experienced in Providence restaurants and were more reasonably priced. The pulled pork was fully flavored, and portions were plentiful. They have a cafeteria-like method of ordering and serving which seemed to work just fine. Without hesitation, my family and I enjoyed our experience.

I did, however, gig them a star. It was a hot not, and the fans that were utilized didn't seem to adequately cool the restaurant. It would behoove the management to invest in a better cooling system. With that being said , it didn't stop my family and I from running out. The friendly service and family atmosphere had us glued to our seats. They really made us feel at home.

I have no words. I’m coming every two weeks. So kind. So fricken good. It’s so good I’m being selfish because I just found out about this place and I want no one to know. Lol. I will tell everyone about it though. That’s just what I do. Can’t help the intrusive thoughts tho lol. This food.. too good and the people that work there are very nice.

UPDATED REVIEW TODAY 1/4/25…. We drove 40 min hear instead of seeing the two guys that usually work here we saw 2 women working and they were very slow and the food looked different and lack there of. Also looked not hot: rice and everything was different. We looked at the food tried to figure out what the hell happened, new management??? We walked out & this is all we crave. We drive so far for this place best do I can food but not anymore. Came all this way: vibes off, foods off, walked...
