Ye Express — Restaurant in West Warwick

Brutally honest rating here. Today, I placed an order for takeout. For starters, the person who took my order over the phone was very polite. I ordered an appetizer of the six piece beef teriyaki and two lunch specials: one szechuan chicken and one beef teriyaki for myself and my coworker. Each lunch combo includes pork fried rice and two chicken wings. I spent a reasonable amount of time waiting for my food to be prepared, about 25 minutes. I would definitely say that it was a reasonable price as well for all the food purchased. When it comes to flavor, I have to say that this place definitely knocks it out of the park, especially with the beef teriyaki. It's very easy to mess up anything with beef especially if you overcook it. This place fortunately knows what they're doing. The beef was tender and flavorful. Now onto the szechuan chicken. Once again, very flavorful, but I do have some concerns. If I had to compare, a lot of restaurants that I've ordered from tend to do the same thing. Too many veggies and not enough meat, especially with the water chestnuts. I would say that half of the veggies was the water chestnuts. Personally, I'm not a fan of water chestnuts and I should have asked what was in it before I placed the order so I can tell them not to include any. All in all, I felt like it was more of a szechuan vegetable plate than a chicken plate. Moving on to the pork fried rice, it definitely doesnt disappoint. It's probably one of the best I've had from any restaurant that serves it. Not greasy, great flavor. Same thing with the chicken wings. Tender and flavorful. This used to be my favorite Chinese food since they've opened in West Warwick. I'm still happy with their food, BUT, I think it's INAPPROPRIATE to post old menu prices on their website! Because, people can call and place their order expecting it will be certain price, and then find out they have to pay more because of the NEW PRICES that were not updated on their website. (For example for an order which should've been $41.64, we had to pay $50.60). This happened two weeks ago, and I've already asked them to update their website with the current prices. Today, the menus shown online still show the old prices, and when I called to place my order, I was not told the total price! So If I didn't think to ask, I would've had again a unpleasant surprise when picking up the order. I'll add this 1* review so maybe the owner will realize that if they continue to do that, they'll end up losing customers. I can understand that it might be too costly to order new printed menus, but what they could do is at least cross out the prices on the old menu pages and write the new prices by hand, and then take a photo of the menu edited to reflect the new prices, and update their website!!! Use to be the best place to get food. The taste changed slightly over here past 1-2 years. Have been going and ordering from there since they opened in 2013. Well not anymore, delivery was always 30-45 minutes never had a complaint until about the last month. You call for delivery and they say 1 hour to 1 hour 20. OK fine but what changed? Oh wait, they forgot to mention that it's really going to take 2 hours to 2 hours and 15 to get your food. When you call to find out what is going on they give you the excuse that they don't want their driver to get into accident. It's been 45 minutes for years what happened.?
