Thought it may be cool to eat at Yellowstone. Overall it was a decent experience. Had a gentleman come over and check on the food and how we were doing. Ordering was easy and there was even a decent gluten free bun option that the person in my group really liked (typically she does not like gluten free buns). So that was a plus. I don’t know for sure if the burgers are frozen, pre-formed meat patties, but I can say the burgers remind me of the ones you get at summer camp. Bland, a bit dry. IYKYK 😏. They weren’t very warm either. I will say there was a microwave towards the back near the second soda fountain. Reheating helped a little. When requested, no pickles were granted which is something I like to have as a part of the veggies. I was told the burger options come pre prepared, and you (as the customer) take off what you don’t want. So that wasn’t my favorite, especially given the burger were a bit dry (camp analogy). By the time the burgers were warmed up in the microwave, add ketchup/mustard/mayo and some salt/pepper (obviously what ever combo you like as the reader of this on condiments and veggies-but not pickles 😒😢), then burger wasn’t bad. I did really like the fries. The ends of the fries still had the potato skins. For me, I do really like skins on my fries. To sum up, not 5 star worthy experience. I am still glad we gave it a try. Something different is always fun to me. Having said that, I can’t really walk away from this meal bragging with, “gotta eat here”. Pricing is reasonable. Added the receipt to give an idea of cost....

We were hungry and short on time whilst visiting the famous Old Faithful geyser, so we walked across the parking lot for a quick lunch. Essentially fast food, it’s nothing spectacular, but it was decent, and it was fast. The place was jampacked full of people, so I don’t have any photos of the interior, but it was pretty basic, with tables and chairs for seating. You just kind of squeezed in where you could find space. There were large tables that were being utilized by more than one party, just so people could have a seat. Being from out of state on vacation, I opted for the Japaleño Cheddar Elk Bratwurst, because it wasn’t something I could get back home. My wife went with the (3) chicken tenders and fries. I also got a side of the chili cheese fries. My bratwurst was actually very tasty. And it was a pretty good size, so it ended up being relatively filling. The chili cheese fries weren’t the greatest, and I did not finish them. They got cold, and we’re only OK, nothing too spectacular. My wife’s regular fries were quite good. They came in a small little cup, but they were crispy and well seasoned. And with ketchup, they went down quite nice. Her chicken tenders were also good, and there were plenty of sauces to choose from for dipping. Again, this was essentially a fast food at a national park landmark, so it was about what you would expect. Nothing spectacular, but it filled our bellies for the afternoon. Self serve fountain machines were nice and had multiple...

On our trip out west we stayed at the Old Faithful Snow Lodge which is attached to the Geyser Grill. We went here for one meal and we were sorely disappointed. The top item on the lunch menu is the a cheese steak. You would expect the top item on the menu to be at least decent if not good. This was easily the worst cheese steak I have ever had! It was completely horrible they are prepared in advance, already a bad sign. The bun is not toasted, the steak is thin and completely devoid of any kind of moisture, and the vegetables they strongly pressure for you to put on top are slimy and devoid of taste. Above all other offenses, the following being by far the worst, they use nacho cheese as the “cheese” for the cheese steak! It is completely smothered in the disgusting substance. This was easily the worst and most DISGUSTING piece of food I have ever been served. I come from the south where cheese steaks are already not the best but this was a complete and total disgrace! Along with the horrible and offensive cheese steak other members of my family ordered food and were strongly displeased with what they got in a way that nearly made it inedible. If you ever find yourself at the Old Faithful Geyer do not be tempted by this location as it is...

It's a pretty typical cafeteria style place, but some of the food is really good, and probably one of the better options at Yellowstone considering quality for the price. The burgers are okay, but the chicken burger (it's a crispy chicken sandwich), bison bratwurst, and red pepper and gouda soup are all really good. It's a little pricey for what you get, but the quality is pretty good overall. If you catch it in between snowmobile groups, you can have the place all to yourself and the food will be really fresh and hot. If you go in the middle of one of those groups, the place will be slammed and there will be no place to sit, so that's a downside. The other downside is they're only open for lunch, closing at 3:00, but I recommend it overall.
