Evie’s Cocktails & Comforts — Restaurant in Westerly

This was my third experience at Evie's since it opened. I was going just let my experiences go but the small tid bit at the end of my experience tonight changed my mind.

The first time I went with my fiance the food was okay but the atmosphere is very loud. There isn't anything to block the conversations and music from being loud. He is hearing impaired and his hearing aides were bothering him. Normally the sound doesn't bother me but I couldn't hear him talking to me either.

The second time we went for lunch. Again, food was okay. It wasn't as loud because there were less people at the time we went. They did mess up our order but it was small and not worth the review.

I decided tonight to give Evie's another try. I got the Gouda burger. The burger was really good! I'd order it by itself if I can but for take out (it's still really loud). I went alone and was sat at a dirty table. I ordered gumbo, it was good and perfect temperature. I asked for light greens on my burger. The burger came out within a few minutes of the gumbo. It was room temperature by the time I was able to eat it. I asked for light greens but that was not acknowledged. I took the greens off my burger but by doing so it removed the garlic aioli sauce bc it was mixed in. I asked got some more to replace it and was given some along with a plate to remove the pile of greens. I did not see until I got into my car that I was charged twice for extra sauce. I didn't ask because I wanted extra I asked because it was removed with the greens I didn't ask for :( .

I'm just disappointed. I would recommend Evie's for the burger but tonight just left me not wanting...

Still FABULOUS ### of weeks in a row. The food keeps getting better and better. The swordfish special. AWESOME!!! Oh I missed week 3!!! Still fabulous!!! Omg the Tuna Poke (out of this world) Chicken bites still a favorite because we love chicken!!! 4th week in a row!! This says a lot! Still FABULOUS! Shea was back! Makes a great Sunset Sip ❤️❤️ Chicken bites get better every week This time sauce on the side Their nachos!!! REAL cheese!!! It did not coagulation like fake cheese! We added the braised beef! Phenomenal!!! We’ll be back for week 5

2nd time here I ordered the southwest fiesta bowl, AWESOME! My fiancé ordered the chicken bites which were fresh and REAL hand cut chicken. ThisI is definitely our new favorite place!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Stopped in for the first time tonight for dinner. What a nice place! Love the history behind the name. They have the best, most comfortable bar chairs, EVER! The service was great. We sat at the bar and had Shea. She was great! My fiancé had a Ruben sandwich which was nice and piled high and cheesy on marble rye with hand cut fries. I had the red pepper pasta. It was delicious! The chicken cutlet was fantastic. The sauce was great with spinach and bacon! Absolutely delicious! I will order this again. Their menu had a nice variety to choose from. I must say, the place down the road use to be great but the last couple of times. You can tell that they sacrificed quality ingredients for cheaper ingredients. Looks like Evie’s will be our new Friday night...

Update: Went back with family after speaking with the owner, Heather. Had a fantastic experience. I did not tell anyone we were there. Just wanted to give it a fair chance. The service was a night and day difference from our first experience. Our server was Shannon H. She was amazing and I will request her when we go back. I want to thank Heather for having us come back and give it a second chance. I think it means a lot she cares enough to try and correct negative experiences when possible. Now I just need that Bull Dog burger back on the menu!

Sat and waited 40 min to find out our food was never put in. The server, Sarah, said the kitchen never got the ticket. Whether that’s true or not I’ll never know but how about check on us? Can’t blame the kitchen for that one. We ordered an appetizer (calamari) and food for two young kids. You never thought to check to see why we had no food. They offered to pay for the app but at that point we shouldn’t have paid for a thing. Especially the kids food. My wife and two kids were excited because we have eaten there before.
