Great Asian Restaurant — Restaurant in Westerville

I've been coming here regularly for the past couple years since moving back to Westerville and can tell you that it's easily the best Chinese restaurant around. It's not a fast casual, according to some on these reviews. It's a legit sit down, family restaurant that offers carry-out.

First off - there are two other restaurants in Westerville (not named Great Asian) where I have puked once I got home - one is on Shrock, the other on Maxtown, and both of those had a mysteriously timed health food inspection and/or remodel shortly after. I can tell you that in the last 3-4 years of patronizing the restaurant that I have not had this issue. Big win here.

Second... the service is second to none as a restaurant. I've seen reviews that (for some reason) blast their employees for being too nice / friendly? Seriously ask yourself if that's worthy of being a negative review?

Third... The food - It's really good. I do wish they offered more dishes (as an American used to 50 different options at various Asian restaurants) , as I typically rotate through 4-5 of my favorites (the egg-rolls are a family favorite) but why mess with a good thing? While some places may throw a fit if you ask for a simple substitution, Great Asian does the opposite. Compare it to the other places in Westerville, and ask yourself, "Did I need to ask for all-white chicken? Did I need to remind them to kick up the spice a notch or two?" It's correctional in portions and seriously - get the Southwest Eggrolls.

Lastly - It's almost 2p on a Saturday afternoon. I'm about to put in another order. As I search for the menu online for my wife (who has thrown out the multiple hard copies I've brought home) I took a gander at their responses. Their rating is currently at a 4.2. I've looked through their negative reviews and want you to ask yourself this - does it seem like their negative reviews were caused by an outside issue (such as an Amazon delivery review) or perhaps docking a star for something they don't offer offer - like a buffet? On that note, if you want a Chinese food buffet in Westerville, head towards Shrock and oh.. oh wait. That place was on the news - and not even the one I mentioned earlier)

Anyway - Great Asian is hands down the best place in Westerville. If you disagree, please feel free to reply on here why before you give them a stair because something stupid like how your server put your to-go food in a box in front of you, or that they don't offer...

I finally got to try this place again after many, many years! We had dinner a little early and got the opportunity to pick our seats. The lady that was working was super efficient and nice. She seemed a little confused that we were wanting to dine in. What was amusing is that once we sat down two additional parties came in. Our orders were taken with accuracy and food was delivered super quickly and nice n' hot. I liked the egg roll very much, when they served it it is had both a hot mustard and a sweeter red sauce. I enjoyed the simple presentation. I ordered for my main meal a dish like the triple crown for my main meal but it was happy... Something with brown sauce. The sauce was a little overkill, but tasted good non the less. Overall the prices were decent, service was attentive and fast, plus the food was great. I'd definitely recommend this...

I went with a friend and they had this huge advertisement about having gluten free options which is great because my intolerance. When I spoke to the waiter, he told me anything could be make gluten free. I ordered a salmon salad type deal. When it arrived he gave my spicy mayo (which almost always contains gluten) and tempura flakes which is just straight up wheat flour. I ended up getting sick after eating there. I avoided the tempura flakes but was told the spicy mayo was gluten free so I ate it. Needless to say, the food was amazing and very tasty but if you are looking for a gluten free options and a staff with at least basic knowledge of gluten allergies then I can't recommend this place.
