I’m not one to complain much at all. But for me this place did not live up to the hype. The ambiance and atmosphere are very nice and this would be a great place to grab a drink and relax. I should also state I am not into Sushi.
When my wife and I arrived we were greeted by the hostesses who were very pleasant then out of nowhere a waitress came up to them and pointed to a computer screen and laid into them and said in a harsh condescending voice “These are my four tops” and stormed off.
We were then seated by the hostess who apparently was now in a bad mood and basically showed us to our table and in a sh*tty tone said enjoy your dinner and dropped our menus on the table.
Next our guests arrived and we ordered an appetizer of edamame and drinks which everyone enjoyed.
However, when it came to the main course the food wasn’t good. I’m not Gordon Ramsey but my wife’s Teriyaki chicken was horrible. Not to mention it arrived about 15 minutes after everyone else had their meals delivered to the table.
I choose to have the pork Gyoza which were extremely over cooked and dry. They tasted like I was eating sawdust in a crispy shell. Once again not good at all.
Our guests had the Panko chicken and it was just ok and her husband had the Sushi sampler which he said was decent but was surprised by the way it was presented. He was expecting his slices of fish to be on top of rice but there was some shaved carrot pieces for presentation.
Overall, the experience to us was a big negative and didn’t live up to the hype. Definitely not worth the money. If you want oriental food there are two places near by for carry-out which without a doubt are much better. If you want the ambience grab a blanket and a bottle of wine and find some green space but skip this place. Plenty of other options nearby or on...
Read moreA mediocre sushi experience at best.
The chiba painkiller drink was pretty good,
The roll descriptions on the menu sound exciting. In practice, there's a reason I've never seen some of these combinations... I don't think they really work.
Eel cucumber roll was let down by the eel sauce which tasted mostly just of sugar. The tang and savoriness of the eel was missing. The ratio was also heavily biased (like 8:1) towards the cucumber. I figured it would be 1:1.
The Aloha roll was a mess. Way too much fruit and acid blew out my palette and the texture of the mango was downright chewy. I couldn't tell that there was coconut shrimp in it at all.
The scallion toro roll had scallion that was way too powerful. The flavor of the toro was completely lost.
Yellowfin toro sushi was good. The Super White tuna (escolar) was also good. The sushi pieces are absolutely enormous. Two bites each for sure. That helps justify the price.
The tempura dinner was not good. The sauce wasn't good. Most of it was already soggy by the time I got it. The broccoli had a bunch of uncooked batter. The asparagus and zucchini weren't even completely coated.
The service was great. Our server was attentive and kept our drinks full.
The atmosphere is weird... The restaurant is broken into three buildings, the one we were in had the bar and we were the only table seated in it (like six others empty).
The ingredients seemed to be fresh but the execution was a complete miss. For the premium price they are asking for here, there are...
Read moreTerrible service. I ordered food at 5:09. I was told at that time it would take about 30 to 40 mins to make my takeout order. I only ordered 3 rolls so i was thrown off by that. Once i arrive at the location obviously they’re busy which is not a problem. I called in at 5:49 to verify the order was ready and can come inside and get it. i was than told “No it should be ready in another 20 mins.” I asked why is it taking so long to make 3 rolls. The response was “We have allot of reservations tonight.” To me that means if you’re not in the building you’re not important. I advised them to cancel the order and i left. I than received a call about 10 mins later after leaving and already being back on the highway. The guy said yes your food is ready already you can come get it. I still choose to cancel because at this point my time has been wasted and its just to many issue for a simple take out order. Get it right the first time and make sure the experience is a pleasant and rememberable one. I wish i never took this promotion and move to indy the food is terrible here and most cases and the service is even worst. I cant wait to move back to dallas to live in reality and with normal people again. They need to throw this whole...
