Awful. I’ll try and keep brief. Owner has an attitude and is terrible at communication (this is proven by the way they respond to others who leave negative reviews). There’s a story about the install but it’s not worth typing. We used them for our new build/ 1 acre lot - pre install of any seed or grass. We had measurement points from our lot & told them to measure off those. They did not & ran main line next to builder silt fence. A month later when fence company came to install fence, they obviously did measure and the main line and sprinkler heads were 8-12 ft on neighbors property. When we called to complain/ask they got super rude again and said it’s gonna be $2k to fix. Pay or go away. Which we had to or the sprinkler heads would’ve been on wrong side of fence and therefore spraying into fence. But we decided then they’d never get another dime. Fast forward to almost a year later & a month into a drought, we realize tons more issues. Basically they gave us too few zones. Especially with the 360 heads. So our lawn is essentially dying bc there’s not enough water pressure per (too large) of zone. They only did 4ā€ sprayers in the beds and they should’ve been 12ā€. We got the beds irrigated but half of them are tied to the lawn & can’t be watered on their own, etc etc etc It’s just terrible planning/layout, horrendous communication and overall a bad end result. We have a sprinkler system that literally doesn’t water our grass enough to keep it alive. My husband is terrified of me posting this because he’s afraid there may be a ā€˜disparagement clause’ in our contract, because that’s the kinda of guy he feels like we are dealing with. If you’re having them do routine maintenance, I think you’re fine. For a new system stay far far far away. No matter how good the up front cost seems Waiting for my rude response in 3, 2, 1….

After having them service our sprinkler system for years we had a new sprinkler system installed this summer. The crew didn’t fully bury the line on one side of our property leaving it exposed in a couple of areas. Our mowing crew inadvertently cut the line twice and repaired it as needed. When I asked the owner if she could send a crew out to correct the problem and bury the line appropriately I felt attacked as a homeowner instead of taken care of. Her response: ā€œ I would have to challenge that the team would leave lines above ground, I have never seen them do that and would hope a homeowner would alert us to something so out of place before they even left the property. Whether they did or the landscape crew pulled them, we will get them buried.ā€ We will be using another sprinkler company moving forward.

We had 317 Outdoor Living replace a problem area in our lawn with new sod. From the first phone call, I was impressed! The person answered the phone and was very friendly and professional. She took my info. emailed me a quote, and scheduled our service for a few days later!! The team came out and removed some problem grass from an area by our back porch. They arrived and went straight to work. They had our old grass cleared and replaced in no time at all! It’s already looking SO much better! We are thrilled with 317 Outdoor Living’s service, communication, professionalism and prompt attention! Thank you! Attached are three photos: Before, Immediately After, and 3-weeks after! Gorgeous, rooted, and mowed!!

Ignore these 5 star reviews that were probably posted by friends of the company & scroll down to the 1 stars & you'll see that many people had a similar experience to mine...

Very long story short (yes, this is an abridged version), my water bill was insanely high & Carmel Utilities pointed me toward my irrigation system. Because my former irrigation company went out of business, I had to find someone new & asked Westfield Sprinkler Company to check it out while they turned on my system for the summer. The technician glanced at it & said it was ā€œfineā€. Okay sure, you’re the expert, I’ll trust you.

Less than 1 month later, I find a large reservoir of water forming over my irrigation system - nonstop leakage from underground. I, again, call Westfield Sprinkler Company for an emergency appointment & remind them they claimed 1 month ago everything was ā€œfineā€. They pretended to not hear the latter & quoted me $900 to fix the problem. 5 hours later, the water supply to my house was turned off & the very under-qualified technicians dug a 5-foot hole in my front yard, told me their management was making them leave because they had other appointments, they couldn’t find the source of the problem, & I had to call a plumber to finish the job. What the heck did I pay you for? Digging a hole & leaving? After a lot of arguing with their office manager, I finally convinced the boys to stay & finish what I paid for. 1 hour later, the boys left - with a now-6-foot hole in my front yard exposed - & said they’d come back the next day to cover it up. That night, I’m surprised with a bill of $1700!!! I called the company saying this is not even in the ballpark of the amount I agreed to & at no point in time was I informed the quote was no longer valid. I was then threatened by the owner of the company that I had to pay, in full, IMMEDIATELY or they would show back up to my property, undo their work, & turn off my water supply. I won’t get into the lengthy back and forth that ensued, but I’m sure you can all guess how that went.

Now, 4 days later, my irrigation system won’t turn on at all. I called Westfield Sprinkler Company & they said it would take $100+ just for them to show up & do an assessment. They claim this isn’t covered by their warranty. My irrigation system was working (albeit with the leak) prior to them showing up, so clearly the work they did caused my system to break. But nope, they continue to deny & try to swindle even more money out of me just to try to figure out what they broke. Moreover, when they originally finished ā€œfixingā€ the leak, I asked them to test my system, but they said they didn’t have to, it was ā€œfineā€. Almost as if they knew they broke it & didn’t want the immediate proof so they could claim plausible...

Would not recommend dealing with this company. Was here 10 minutes tops for start up, did not check all sprinkler heads, no interest in knowing where they were even located since it was their first time doing a start up. Called but no amount of negotiating with the woman in the office resulted in them coming back to do their job right, was told ā€œthey don’t do thatā€. I have several broken & buried heads so system is unusable basically due to heavy mowing equipment and it’s not their job to check sprinkler heads at start up, just turn the knob, run a bogus test, charge you a ā€œstart upā€ fee & leave. Also at winterization last fall they disabled my system by removing a valve which meant I could not turn on the system on my own. When asked them about it they said it was standard procedure, which in 22 years owning my system has never been the case with any other company I’ve used. I asked another company & they said anytime a company does that it’s so you would need to call them to come fix your system. First negative review ever written but felt the need to let others know. Your response is incorrect, as I never asked for all the heads to be repaired for the cost of the start up fee. Your tech did not even bother to locate all the heads and no adjustments were made. I did not receive a quote not that I would have used your services anyways after the way I was treated on the phone. He was here 10 minutes max, and I asked to walk the heads with him with my map to make sure he located them all and he refused. You did not do a full start up and I gave you an opportunity to come back to do it right but you declined. I’m sorry about your amnesia, hopefully this will help...
