We asked for a coffee at the second drive up window. They made accommodations for the add on but were slow about it. When they handed the driver the coffee the lid was not on all the way. I, the passenger in a truck, saw that the lid was not on properly but could not warn them before the coffee exploded all over the building, the truck (including the windsheild), and the both the male employee and the male driver. The driver yelled at the the employee for not paying attention and not putting the lid on right. Obviously they both got burned. The driver told them that we will just come in and get the coffee. I went in and identified myself as the person waiting for the coffee that was just spilled. The new coffee should have been ready by the time I walked in since in the meantime we were parked cleaning up coffee. I hear three people talking around the corner, out of my sight, about how this was not the employee's fault. That it was the guys fault (driver) for grabbing the cup from the lid. This was the female manager speaking. Another female asked why are we even making this if he's not coming in? I shook my head and raised my arms like HELLO! I'm right here hearing you talk smack and STILL waiting. The young woman who I identified myself to kindly informed the group that I was right there, quietly indicating for them to shut up. The manager gave me the coffee and we scolding me that it was all of "my husband's" fault! -( We are not married nor a couple.) She insisted that she saw for herself that because the driver grabbed it from the top he was just asking the lid to come off and it was his fault. I told her normally I would apologize profusely for his behavior... when she talked right over me further scolding me. I told her I saw with my own eyes (to use her words back at her) that the lid was not all the way. And yes you can grab a CUP by the top (not the LID) that people do it all the time to get it out of their cup holder. She continued on that i am just asking for it to come off and that it is commonsense. I asked if she was the manager. Her reply was yes as she pointed to the coffee and said Well there's your coffee. As she dismissed me, apparently brushed off all accountability of her and the staff.
I totally get that accidents happen and mistakes are made. But never did she or anyone apologize. She did not get a name for filing an incident report. She was rude and condescending to both of us. She put the blame on us- to me it is clear it was 100% The male employee's fault. She fought with a customer- never listening.
The driver went in afterward (seperatly) and asked if he could get a free meal for the trouble. She refused. It's the least they could do for burning him and getting coffee all over him and the truck.
The only reasonable way I feel to resolve this issue is to have her fired! I am a very reasonable person. For her to settle a customer down, even if it was his fault, by giving a free meal to prevent a lawsuit. That's pretty damn cheep! That is commonsense!
Maybe McDonald's needs to reinvent the coffee cup so people can grab their cups out of their cup holders without blaming the customer. Also they need to train their staff to adjust for vehicle height before reaching through the window so the customer will not have to reach down or up to grab the beverage in this inappropriately designed cup per this mangers specifications.
Thank you in advance for the...
Read moreI couldn't believe how I was treated here. My car got a flat tire 5 miles north of here, as my husband and our two poodles were ending our spring break early because my mom's remains were ready at the funeral home she was at, she had died unexpectedly the week prior. I learned that my Ford C-Max was designed with no spare tire. We were in a dangerous situation being on the shoulder of a highway. The police came to get me and our dogs while my husband stayed with the car. We couldn't find anyone to get us so the funeral home director offered to pick me up and bring my mom's ashes to me. The local police dropped me off at this McDonald's. I sat there quietly with my two poodles at the far back for an hour until a child came running past us, causing my 6 month old puppy to bark. Both poodles were leashed, harnessed, and completely under my control. They are also very friendly; it was the child that was misbehaving, not us. We were then approached by a female staff member and told to leave. Again, we had been there an hour already, waiting for my ride coming from Janesville. The lack of empathy and compassion astounded me. It was cold and rainy but she clearly didn't care. I almost told them to call the police (since they were the ones who suggested I be picked up here). I pleaded to stay until my ride came and she begrudgingly backed down. Hope they never experience a nightmare like I was going through. My husband and I were separated for hours due to tornado sightings &...
Read moreI ordered two drinks. When I received them, I immediately noticed that the color was off. It was too light. Sure enough, both of them did not have enough syrup in the drink. I had originally gone through the drive through but did not want to wait again so I went inside to talk with somebody about gettinew drinks. When I went to the counter there was already another customer there trying to get food she ordered but did not receive. The associate helping the other customer customer left to get a manager. When the manager arrived she ring the customer up a second time to pay for the items that she had already did not receive. The customer was an elderly lady who questioned why she was being charged but the manager told her that she was not charged the 1st time. However the manager did not look athe customer's receipt to confirm whether this was accurate. Once done helping that customer the manager returned to the back of the house and ignored me who was waiting there. I waited patiently for someone to come ask me what I needed. There was multiple times where associates came up, Looked at me and then addressed somebody else. After several long minutes I decided to just fill up my drinks at the self serve counter instead. However The soda in that machine was flat. By this point I had had enough and walked out without my drinks leaving them on...
