First off, I’m not local. I drove 45 minutes here at the request of my girlfriend because she thought it seemed cool.
Immediately when we arrive a person yelled across the room to us from behind the counter, to come to the back. That’s a put off right off the bat.
We were told a 25min wait, when we saw open seats. There was one table that had just been bussed, ready for 2! No menus or silverware yet but 2 ready seats! Well, think again friend we waited 15 minutes to sit in those two exact seats.
We waited another 15 minutes to get menus and probably another 5 for coffee by a different staff member than our servers. Who we stopped to just have them take our order because why not, we’d been there 35 mins total now.
It was at least another 30 minutes before we go our food. We got pancakes, its kind of their thing and shouldn’t have taken that long, however we still did not have any silverware. as I mentioned in the beginning. I really wanted to leave, my gf was really excited and heard good things about this place. But by this point her excitement was left for hunger at the food we waited an hour for and had no tools to eat it with.
It took another 10 mins for someone to check-in and realize our food was now cold and had no silverware…. They did offer to heat it up, but our guess was that would take at least another half hour. So we finally ate our cold food. That didn’t look like it took an hour to make (see picture) With no beverages because no one came around to refill our coffee.
I will not go here again obviously. I will literally beg anyone who was telling me they want to try this place out to just get McDonald pancakes and a milkshake instead.
Really felt third class here. I can take a punch but I don’t like when people treat my gf so poorly at any establishment. You do not get a second chance...
Read moreIn early 2020 we moved out of Westfield back to Virginia where we’re from. This place has an incredibly special place in my heart. We moved to Westfield in 2016, got in to town late at night and were absolutely starving the next day. I hit Google for any place that was close with GF options and we settled on Pancake Sundaes. As someone who grew up in the restaurant industry I was not optimistic at first glance however I think that is the veil that makes this place a best kept secret. Originally looking for GF pancakes, the menu options were so good that I got a frittata which came in a mini cast iron skillet (with really good GF toast) and I was hooked lol. The potatoes are unmatched. I will forever be spoiled by those crispy, fluffy potatoes. The hash, the pancakes, the omelets… you can’t pick anything wrong here. We took every guest and out of town visitor to our favorite breakfast joint and it never disappointed. As I said, we moved away and truthfully my husband and I talk about how much we miss this place on a regular basis. It is a gem, it is unique in its flavor and quality. To the owners, if you ever fly south to VA, I’d love to treat you to a meal at our restaurant. Thanks for providing great service, great food and great memories for us...
Read moreTheir hash was horrible, grilled and very thin without substance in the middle. I'm used to hash that is crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. My biscuits and gravy had hardly any sausage in it and was way too creamy (and I'm the cream queen). When my friend said something about the hash, the waitress just looked at her and didn't really respond. Finally after speaking to the cook, she came back and offered something else, but by then the whole vibe was ruined. Didn't offer to comp at least the hash when clearly only two bites were taken. Oh well, I have a list of my favorite places to go and always looking to add more to that list. This will not be one of them. Attitude by wait staff can totally turn things into a pleasant experience or a bad one and determine whether or not someone is willing to give a place another shot.
I drove from south Hadley with an injured knee hoping to have a good experience based upon a former...
