I wanted to like it. Unfortunately I think it was the worse I ever had as it was inedible. I ordered the General's Chicken. The sauce was almost non-existent and that was a good thing because it was like glue. I like to put sauce on my rice and since this rice was so dry and tasteless I tried it and could barely scrape a spoon of sauce off the bottom of the container and it stuck to the spoon (glue, get it). The chicken looked good but, it was also dry and overcooked. The egg roll was unrecognizable on the inside and looked liked mystery ingredients. I have no idea what was inside. There was definitely no bean sprouts. It was very mushy on the inside and my best guess would be mushed up broccoli. The outside was crisp but, the wrap was also mushy on the inside. Ugh, desperate since I was hungry I ate it and that was about it. The place was very clean and neat and the clerk/cashier very pleasant. The prices are very reasonable and the portions a very good size. Unfortunately, not a good value since the food was inedible. I tried this place based on the good reviews and really am perplexed at such a wide disparity in the reviews. Honestly, I thought I may give it another chance but, I wouldn't even know what to try. I am still hungry...my take out container...
Read moreOrdered Beef and Broccoli and its drowned in so much sauce the beef and broccoli look soggy but somehow rubbery at the same time (weird). I called to ask if they could remake it with sauce on the side, they couldnt. The food is cooked in the sauce, they said. I asked if they could remake in light sauce, stressing to them that I couldnt eat it as it is now. They could if I wanted to repurchase the meal. I told them no, I was hoping you guys could remake it, no where on the menu does it say its doused in sauce. It looks like a cheap $1 frozen meal. They said no, I should have known better or looked at their Facebook. I'll strain out the wasteful extras and itll do, but I'm disappointed and won't order here again.
Edit: I checked out their facebook page and looked at the order I placed, and mine had much more sauce, it was overflowing, than their picture. It tastes much better with the amount of sauce the picture has, not what...
Read moreBest Chinese food ever. As I sit here eating leftover Chinese from another random place up in Michigans U.P. I couldn’t help but wish I was eating China Gate. I’ve been eating from China Gate since I was 12yo. It’s my favorite place to eat. I’m 33 now and have moved to TN, then back up to Michigans UP but I’ve never had a better sweet and sour chicken in my life - and Lord knows I’ve tried. Your fried rice is perfection and even my picky husband loves it. I lived off your food 3x a week while pregnant with my first child, and my husband and Is date nights were Chinese food and movies. You even remembered our order just from the name. When my husband drives the 9 hours back to Westland for his family - he always brings me my favorite sweet and sour chicken on the way back up. This is my childhood - And will always be my favorite...
