We stopped in for lunch on Sunday as we were in the mood for some food and we're let down by a hot dog place nearby that was supposed to be open but wasn't, and I was really in the mood for a good hot dog. We called to make sure they were open before we headed out that way and the person on the phone was a little bit abrupt and hung up rather quickly. When we arrived the atmosphere was nice it wasn't too busy and we were seated really quickly in a nice booth. The staff were very attentive to getting our order quickly and making sure we had everything we needed. They gave us a kid's menu which kind of just looked like a small scaled-down version of the real menu and a little pamphlet. Not the typical coloring page kids menu that some restaurants have. My wife ordered the chicken tenders meal which came with a nice basket containing different crackers and some really nice soft fluffy fresh tasting bread and butter, and she got some really hot crispy fries with her meal. The hot dogs myself and my daughter ordered were okay, nothing too special just average cheap hot dogs, but the buns were kind of hard and a little bit chewy, like they were stale or had been sitting out for a while. The fries I got were also a little on the softer, less well done, side compared to the nice crispy ones my wife got. The service was really good though, and all the staff were very polite and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. Cashing out after our meal was quick and easy. All in all I would say this was a great restaurant and we'll definitely be back next time we're in the area.

I was told to try this place, so I came with my boys on their half day of school. Let’s start with the fact the place looks like it’s 180 years old, could use some updating, but that would mean they’d have to raise prices, which I like the low prices, soooo. The service was nice, pleasant staff, not the most attentive. My one son has some emotional issues, but doesn’t appear to have issues and he was having an episode, the server sort of looked at him like he was a problem, which I didn’t love. But I’m also sensitive to that. I ordered the mozzarella sticks as an appetizer for us, and it’s pretty hard to mess up, however, they were not stringy or gooey like they are supposed to be, they were kind of chalky and we won’t be ordering those again. My kids ordered the Mickey Mouse pancakes, which just had some whipped cream on them. They also did not look like Mickey Mouse, lol. But my kids loved them. I ordered a triple decker club, no cheese and no mayo, with fries. It came with a cup or soup, I ordered the chicken noodle. The sandwich had thick pieces of turkey, yummy bacon and crisp lettuce on it. The fries were cooked nicely. The soup was salty and delicious! Just how I like my soup! I also ordered a small order of french toast with powdered sugar and cinnamon and they were some of the best french toast I’ve had! We got all that food for under $40! With tip! It was worth the try and I’ll go back for that french toast!

I leave Feeling Swindled, Ripped Off, and Taken advantage of. Yes, they can blame Door Dash and Pass the buck down the line all they want, and they demonstrated thet they sure DO want, but they never even offered to make it right. Call Door Dash, they said, Not our problem. An offer of an order of Chocolate Chip pancakes would gave made it right, in my eyes. But "Call Door Dash" was the callous response I was given.

Let me explain. Im new to working in the area, so I google somewhere to eat, and come across this place. I click order online option from Google maps and notice that whether I choose delivery or pickup I have to sign in through doordash either way. Okay makes no difference to me I'm going to pick it up so doordash isn't going to have any involvement I guess this is just the way they do it. Big mistake to assume that, don't ever assume anything but anyway fortunately I had to go back on the site to look at something I was considering ordering something else but what I had noticed is that not only did you have an option from their website to order straight from the restaurant but also that the order that I placed through doordash included its jacked up prices even though doordash didn't f** deliver it. So now I've paid doordash has inflated prices even though they haven't had anything to do with my order at all oh, and I figure I just get that taken care of when I went to the restaurant. Boy was I wrong about that. The response I got at the restaurant was essentially yes you paid too much and nope we're not going to do anything about it

Call Door Dash.

Oh I most certainly will be doing that as well But, With all the other places around I dont think I could justify ever actually spending money at Westland Family...
