My sister visited me from Texas and I wanted to take her to this diner because I have had great experiences with them before. The food is wonderful. However, my sister and the waitress that waited us (later to find out one of the OWNERS) had a little misunderstanding. Here’s what happened: We had just started eating and in less than 15 minutes our bill was given to us. My sister and I were very confused as of why the bill was brought out so soon, especially when neither of us requested it. It felt as if we were being rushed out of the restaurant. The waitress came over and my sister asked why did she bring the bill out so soon. The waitress explained that she brings it out early because sometimes she gets busy. I understood at that point and furthermore explained it to my sister. She understood but she was still a little on edge about it. We proceeded to cash out and once the waitress came back my sister asked for a slice of cheese cake (she was a little short with the waitress) When the waitress came back to the table with it, my sister opened the container and it was a small piece of cheesecake drenched in strawberries and sauce. My sister said she was trying to be funny but me always giving people the benefit of the doubt thought she was being nice and showing good customer service. We went back the next day because the food was good, but when we came back in the restaurant I noticed the waitress who served us the day before talking with the the male owner (later to find out he was her husband) Meanwhile we were talking with another waitress. She was taking our order while the two owners talked on the side of the kitchen, less than 10 feet away. I watched them closely as they talked because they were being very suspicious looking over their shoulders at my sister. I really believe that I saw her say that she had did something to my sisters cheesecake that’s why they were concerned of us coming back. The waitress that waited us the day before (female owner) kept walking past us taking breaks between conversation with her husband trying to listen in to what we were talking to the waitress taking our order about. Walking past us at the counter as if she was doing something in the seating area. After we had been helped, the male owner came over to help us once the waitress walked away. I whispered in my sisters ear and told her what I had just saw and we left the restaurant. Bottom line, the food is great but if you piss them off they’ll do stuff...
Read moreDrive thru service and quality of food is very hit or miss. I usually come here during the week at various times during normal food business hours. Sometimes the food is amazing, sometimes it's very average. Most the time the fries are really soggy but sometimes they are crispy and good it's a huge gamble. Some of the people working there definitely seem untrained as if the owner hired based on looks and personally but failed to check work experience although there are a few workers who actually seem like they have done this before. I regularly have to remind them I got a drink after I get my food and before they close the window. Last time I went on a Monday around noonish, I was the only car in the drive thru and the inside wasn't extremely busy yet it took 31mins from the time they ran my card to the time I got my food. I regret not asking for my money back as the fries were booty and the bacon wrapped dog has just pitiful. The explanation for why is took so long was "I have no idea why that took so long" that tells me there is no communication on the inside or that they really care. Seems like the kitchen also isn't as good as it was a year ago. Some training or a new staff is definitely needed for this place hopefully the owner cares enough about their business and reads this. Really wish this place was a good as it was a year ago. Will be coming here much less. Will update review if...
Read moreI visited the drive thru as a returning customer for the 2nd time due to a highly positive 1st time experience at Village Gourmet Hot Dogs. When I arrived at the drive thru for my 2nd visit, the woman taking my order seemed unfamiliar with the menu and impatient. The woman repeatedly asked me what I ordered once I drove around to the window to pay. I immediately knew something was wrong when I asked for a receipt after handing her a $20. She seemed confused as she worked the computer, licking her fingertips each time she touched the computer screen. I immediately asked for assistance and was returned with a nasty attitude as she walked off. The next woman who came to assist at my request was no help either. She looked equally confused,. I handed her my receipt and politely asked for a refund, as I had been waiting for 10 minutes, no other cars in site on the property, and witnessing her fingers in her mouth. The woman looked at the returned receipt and cash and asked me how much money I needed back!!!! I had paid an overpriced, $16 for a hot dog and cheese sticks with a $20. I was able to receive my money back, but wanted to warn others by writing this review out. This is not only a shady business, but a sanitary...
