Park Place Drive-in — Restaurant in Westminster

Stopped here randomly for a quick bite and ice cream while heading back to our campground, so happy I got to see the retro diner vibe as soon as I walked in the door! They have a limited menu, some hot and cold sandwiches, hot dogs, no frills. The ice cream is Hershey and I'll tell you that you can always tell a milkshake or sundae made with Hershey ice cream because of the uniquely perfect mix of rich flavor and smooth texture. I got a medium chocolate milkshake (basic, I know, but I have nut allergies) and was trying to not rudely slurp the rest of it when the restaurant quickly became a full-house after we entered! Thankfully beat the crowd that the storm drove in, with the rest of my party getting scoops of ice cream in waffle cones. We all were pleased and glad to have stopped here! They also have stuffed shakes/sundaes, so every range of sweet tooth will be satisfied! Park Place Drive-in has some great things going for it, but also some room for improvement. Let me start with the positives first: I've been there a fair number of times now, and each time, the ice cream has been really good. Their banana splits are amazing, and I'd definitely recommend the apple flower blossom (it's like an apple pie with vanilla ice cream in a waffle cone - delicious!) to anyone when it's in season. The establishment has a very old-time feel with 50s music playing on the speakers and decor to match, and it's very conveniently located next to the park, so you can bring your ice cream there to enjoy if the aesthetic or size of the building doesn't meet your liking. Now for the negatives: Sometimes the customer service is lacking when they are short-staffed, which causes slow response time. Sometimes, they have allowed stress to get to them and will start to make rude comments. While that isn't always the case, it also isn't an excuse to take it out on customers. So that's my honest review. Personally, I feel like it's worth it...

An aesthetically pleasing old timey diner that you would not believe exists in Westminster.

My mom and I stumbled across this diner on a weekday in search of lunch. We shared an egg salad and grilled cheese sandwich. Let me tell you, both were good, but the egg salad stole the show. It was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of mayo. I also ordered a cold brew coffee and surprisingly, it was very tasty.

Service was good with the employees being very sweet and courteous, even walking us through the menu after we told them we have never been here before.
