Puerto Nuevo Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Westminster

Because of COVID and our family's health, we have only been eating out on special occasions, and only where there is outdoor seating. We've eaten at the PN Westminster location a couple of times, but we've eaten many, many times at the location in West Union, SC. Every time we have eaten at PN we've had a great experience, and loved the food...until last night.

We arrived at 8:05 pm. It was my husband's birthday and we wanted to eat there to celebrate. When we arrived there was one other party on the patio, and we took seats at one end, visible from a door and a window.

We waited ten minutes and when no one came out to greet us, I sent a family member in to let them know we were on the patio. He came back and told us he'd let them know we were there, and then we sat for another 20 minutes. No one ever came out.

So at 8:35 we left, picked up a pizza and ate it at home. Well, if nothing else, thanks PN. You saved us at least $20 on my husband's birthday meal. I expected better service from the PN franchise than this. We won't be back to the Westminster site, and since the West Union location doesn't have a patio with outdoor seating like the one in Westminster, I guess we won't be eating with PN again anytime soon. You'd think in the midst of a pandemic when restaurants are suffering the way they are, PN would pay better attention to their customers. We've spent thousands of dollars at PN over the years. We'll think twice before we spend any more...

Decided to try this place after a day out with friends! Their menu is HUGE and they also bring out chips with bean dip and salsa to start! 🥗 My friend and I decided to try their mango and strawberry kids daiquiri and they were so refreshing and tasty! She was also ecstatic they had birria tacos so I decided to try! It was super tasty and I ate all of it- but it was more than enough food for one person for sure! I also got to try some of my boyfriend’s chicken and their chicken is SOO MOIST- I LOVED IT! The staff were friendly and I also loved the touch with the fancy tux uniforms! Everyone looked so slick and professional! 😄 We all had a pleasant visit and left with full bellies! 10/10 would recommend if you’re craving...

My husband and I have eaten here once, and gotten take-out twice. When we dined in it was alright, but when we ordered to-go... they left out our tortillas TWICE. The second time, the lady who took my order even reassured me that they were included. When I took the food back to get a refund because it wasn't all there and cold by the time I got back, they informed me that it is "My responsibility to check my food before leaving with it." Ha! I have NEVER been more offended and had a worse experience. It's actually YOU'RE job considering our food was $50 for two people!!! I will NEVER ever eat here again. Just rude and careless. Pick a different day job if you don't like to...
