Check that wall, because there's hole in it.
Hole in the wall, indeed! I'd imagine the confined mass of people waiting in line & sitting at the bench & few tables available during peak hours would be claustrophobia-inducing. Not to mention musty. Roasting Water is a typical coffee/tea/boba/smoothie etc. shop with one exception - glass bottles! Your drink order comes in these cute glass bottles. At the time of my visit, the bottles had a panda climbing on a tree branch.
Being my first time, I asked the cashier what she recommended. A large menu of RW coffee, fruit tea, milk tea, smoothies & chill me's (non-dairy blended drinks) proved choosing what I wanted a daunting task. After elaborating on the most popular items, I decided on the Tropical Storm- Like a Lava Flow (aka strawberry colada), this drink hit the spot from the get-go. As with all drinks made at Roasting Water, no powders or syrups are used. Only the real stuff. I enjoyed the coconut, pineapple & strawberry sections melding together, creating a taste of paradise. The Tropical Storm was a decent size, but I was left wanting more. I asked for light sweetness, and the drink wasn't cloyingly sweet at all. A bit pricey at $4.75, but there's no denying I enjoyed it.
Bring back the glass bottle for 10% off. Don't forget to get the stamp card to earn a free drink.
Service was good. I lucked out and had only a couple in front of me. After ordering, it was less than 3 minutes till I had my drink in my hand. A bench and a few 2-person tables to sit at, Roasting Water is more a grab n' go spot. Unless, you like having people's butts in front of your face while you're having your boba milk tea. Hey, I'm not judging if that's your thing ;p
Parking is in a private lot, shared by a pharmacy and other businesses.
Roasting Water managed to quench my thirst on a mid 90 degree day. While not something I'd go out of my way for, if I was in the area, perhaps after watching a movie at the Regency Westminster, then of course I'd come by for a cold treat. Provided there was no line, as I wouldn't want to what very long inside this coffin of a shop.

Read moreHere take this punch card and get a drink. That is what a wise friend told me sending me to Roasting Water. It is near the 199 Chicken place where nothing is 199. I do remember going there many moons ago when you could wait over an hour to get something to eat for $1.99. Those days are gone but it is still popular. Always, if you can find 199 then you will find Roasting Water.
The drinks are so good! Not the best I have ever had but I love the price for the given quality. Also the place smells amazing. It is great when a tea or coffee place smells like tea and coffee. Unlike Lollicup, which probably smells like powder and a wet fart. I could lounge in Roasting Water but I was in a hurry. The place is very small and the seating has a lot of pillows. It not a big area it can only fit maybe one Jason or 4 skinny Asian girls. Or Jason plus 4 Asian girls. I love it when you call me big poppa. Giggty! Just kidding. This is a family show.
I was a bit bummed that there were no longer free items such as sandwiches or free ice cream but I think the prices were higher during the time of the older reviews. I'm good with a strong coffee and tea drink for 5 dollars. 5 dollar boba drinks! I rather drink both than eat at Subway.
I highly recommend giving this place a try. And please someone build a...
Read moreOne of my friends consistently snapchats whenever she gets a drink from Roasting Water so I decided to check out why she loves it so much.
The store is a little hard to find, its not right next to the street but behind a whole bunch of stores, so I was confused about where it was especially since I've never been in the area before.
Walking to the store, I already noticed a line, which was definitely indicative of its popularity since I came at a rather off time. However, the line moved fast and I ordered my tea quickly. I got the white peach tea with peach bits and pom poms. Although it is a little pricier than most drink places ($4.75), I would say it's well worth it. I've NEVER had anything like this before. It was so wonderful. Their tea flavors are not too sweet, and the mix of fruits inside really helps with the flavor. The pom poms are also a great addition. I decided to add them after reading some Yelp recommendations for it, and they were right. At first, when I was drinking the tea, I didn't know why there were chewy sweet things inside, and then I realized it was the pom poms. Felt like I was eating boba except it was much healthier and not as chewy. Definitely recommend getting these.
Overall, would definitely...
