If you live in Granville, Westover, or the Morgantown city limits its no secret that Hometown Hotdogs hands down makes the best chili, Hotdogs, and fries!!!! They also offer pepperoni rolls, frito pies, and various sandwiches, but we all know why people keep returning and that's the awesome people behind the counter and those oh so scrumptious Hometown Hotdogs (made right in front of you to your liking). They offer chili in regular, mild, or hot, the traditional toppings including sauerkraut and also hot nacho cheese and I think cheddar too. *They used to be a cash only business and I believe they still are but no worries because they now have an in house ATM to remedy that in case you don't know or forget to bring cash. Lastly, the prices can't be beat and the boys always look for the best economical way to combine your orders to ensure you're paying the lowest price possible ( I have a family of 5 and we can eat for about $30-$35 and you just can't do that in many other establishments). I personally rate HH a 10/10 and I'm sure most others do as...
Read moreThis Hot Dog restaurant is a Morgantown hidden Gem. They have the best hotdogs salad and French fries Update have been back several times and the food has gotten worse each time. The local crowd will stare at u and make u feel incredibly unwelcome and uncomfortable. The salad was 1/4 the size of the original salad and the rolls were so dry I could barely eat it. There was 2 count them 2 peppers and no sauce from the peppers at all. And the equivalent of 1/2 a cheese stick of cheese. So I've come to the conclusion that they only like their regular customers and aren't interested in earning new regulars. The hotdogs are good u can't mess up a hotdog. So after our 5th trip there and the decline in portion size and quilty I'll go spend my 40...
Read moreWhile in Morgantown WV for Doctor Appointment I stopped at Hometown Hot Dogs in the Westover Area. The place is small but clean. Staff friendly and Food was great.
I got a Hot Dog with Mild Chili Sauce, Cole Slaw and Onions. The bun was hot but not steamed. The Weiner was okay but not grilled. The chili sauce had a good taste and so did the Cole slaw. I would give it a 4/5 stars.
There is seats at counter, a couple tables inside and a few outside under a carport with a few picnic tables. Parking lot holds about 8-10 cars. Sort of in a turn near tracks so be careful pulling off lot back into traffic.
Definitely would eat here again Prices were reasonable, okay decor and friendly staff....
