Wood's Ice Cream — Restaurant in Westport

Place is great,ice cream reasonable prices.Staff not so much. I politely asked because I got a Sundae last time I was there and I requested peanut butter sauce and they forgot it. I mentioned last time when I ordered the sundae,I requested the peanut butter sauce if they could please remember, I spoke to them like a gentleman politely & behind the scenes I seen the young lady mocking me as she was adding the peanut butter sauce but she didn't think I didn't see her. Just totally unprofessional I'm a paying customer I work hard and there's nothing like when you order something and it's not there.So when she handed me my sundae, I reminded her that I spoke to them politely & she looked at me like she seen a ghost.Its sad as paying customer that you have to deal with an entitled staff or employees.Be kind, and treat others how you want...

I used to come here when I was young. Now, due to family circumstances/deaths, I am back living in town and am finding some level of comfort (and deliciousness) in the familiarity of eatng their ice cream. Like many, I like to sit in the provided Adirondack chairs and watch the nearby farm animals at dusk where I can be with my thoughts (and grief).

The ice cream is amazing and I need to branch out and try other flavors. (But I go so infrequently that I like to order their amazing strawberry flavor.) The one downside is that the portions are huge and I wish they had a smaller size available. If you go with someone else, maybe ask for an additional cup and think...

Like an oasis in the desert, I was craving some ice cream as we drove around Little Compton (not realizing we had crossed into Westport), Woods suddenly appeared. Unassuming, it looked like something out out my childhood. The young women who greeted us were charming and helpful as they explained the types of cones and flavors. Woods was just what I needed at that moment. We enjoyed our ice cream outside on Adirondack chairs as RI Red chickens scurried about and cows grazed a few yards away. A great time.
