I walked into Bagel Bistro by myself today (Sunday, July 7th of 2024). I had just finished swimming with my boss and my daughter. My daughter waited in the car (Thank God) while I went inside to grab a quick lunch for us. I was in a very pleasant mood upon arrival. I have ordered bagels from this location many, many times on Sundays around 12:45ish in the past, though I have not been since last summer of 2023. I said hi to the cashier in a very friendly manner and asked her how she was doing as I have always done with every cashier I greet and interact with. She did not respond to my question. She simply looked at me like I was an idiot for even asking her that question, and rudely asked me what I wanted. Taken back by her total lack of respect after I began our interaction on such an upbeat note, I looked her directly in the eye and again asked her, “How are you doing?” She purposely ignored my question for a second time, and even more rudely asked me what I wanted to order. Her face expressions and body language toward me were cold, callous, and outright hostile. She then told me, “We close in five minutes.” It was almost 1:00 PM. I said, “I was not aware of that. Is that why you have such an attitude problem?” She said, “Most transactions go like this.” I said, “Actually, I expect someone to have common courtesy, act respectful, and use manners.” She responded with, “You have your demons. I have mine.” Then, she turned to the cook behind her and said, “I can’t deal with this chick with the attitude.” UM. EXCUSE ME?! I acted kind from the very beginning. I am not unkind for advocating for myself and addressing unwarranted disrespect from a shameful excuse for a decent employee, and an ill-mannered human being. I looked at all three of the individuals working at the front of the store and asked, “Who is the manager here?!” The ignorant cashier said it was the cook. The cook said it was the ignorant cashier. I made it extremely clear to all of them that treating someone the way the cashier had treated me for no reason at all was an utter disgrace. If that chick is truly the current manager for Bagel Bistro, I don’t expect that business to last much longer at all. What a trashy female, and a horrible representation of “working” women everywhere. I will NEVER ever walk into the Bagel Bistro again. Their atrocious customer service is part of what is wrong with this world, and that alleged manager’s behavior is absolutely disgusting. They do not deserve one cent of my money, and will not be receiving one cent from me, or anyone else I know at any point in the future. I don’t have enough middle fingers for the kind of unjust treatment I received this afternoon. I truly don’t. 🤢🤮
Additionally, after I left, I looked up their business hours on Google. It says they close at 2:00 PM on Sundays, not 1:00 PM like the cashier told me. Therefore, she isn’t just a miserable degenerate with a dead-end job. She is also a liar.
Karma is a b**. One day, she is bound to...
Read moreWe were excited to try this place but found it underwhelming. The good: kids book shelf was appreciated, menu variety, other friendly patrons, food was out in a reasonable time. Bacon was a good medium firm texture. The meh: I get a high traffic place will gets dirty quickly, but after a 3 year pandemic I honestly wonder the last time certain areas were sparkling clean vs just haphazardly wiped down. Challah french toast wasn't soaked long enough to take advantage of the bread and it seemed like the grill also wasn't hot enough to caramelize. I occasionally enjoy fake syrup, but was hoping for actual maple syrup today. Coffee could have been hotter, Bagel and lox was much better, but felt like it was missing something from NY bagels that might have been better masked if it had been toasted, but we didn't think to ask. One of the items we ordered wasn't ready when we were informed the order was ready and had to be separately prepared after we asked where it was. Overall some attention to detail, would bring this place back to where it seems...
Read moreThere aren't many bagel places around and this place is okay. Sandwiches are good and they have pretty good options for food and drinks.
They could elevate this score if they actually cooked their hashbrowns instead of giving us a soggy hashbrown wrapped in tinfoil....I have to stop at BK or Wawa across the street for hashbrowns bc they can't figure it out. If they copied McDonald's hashbrowns they would probably add a decent amount to their sales and customer happiness.
I know you can be busy, but try to ensure you toast the sandwiches...too many times I get home which is 3-4 minutes away. The tinfoil and short ride should not make it seem like it was never toasted.
Finally, the bagels are slightly heavy. If you could get them to be a little lighter, which I know is a big ask, I think they...
