I visited Pisker’s Bakery for the first time ever today (3/29/25), and was absolutely blown away not only by the delicious desserts, but also by the genuine kindness and empathy shown to myself and my brother, who has special needs. The employee named Ashley helped answer all of the questions I had about the immense variety of fresh baked goods they had available, and gave us her full & undivided attention. Once we paid for our order (Pisker’s is CASH ONLY by the way), I asked Ashley if it was okay for me to leave my order on the counter while I assist my brother back down the stairs then come back to get it once I settled him in the car (Context: one of his diagnoses is cerebral palsy, so he uses a walker due to his mobility issues but needs help up/down any stairs/incline/decline). Without skipping a beat, Ashley picked my order up off the counter and insisted on walking it out to the car with us. I tried to decline, as I never want to be a burden, but I could tell Ashley was the type of person who goes above and beyond to treat people with kindness any chance she gets, and I wasn’t going to win the battle of doing it all by myself this time (which brings tears to my eyes as I write this).
Were the desserts (especially the donuts and apple/cheese danish) delectably mouthwatering and painstakingly addictive? Abso-freaking-lutely. Were they good enough on their own to make me come back? At least a few times, for sure. Did Ashley, however, ensure a lifelong customer within myself, my whole entire family, and anyone who will listen, by showing being such a special human through her genuine act of kindness? Abso-freaking-lutely. Pisker’s will always have my patronage and word of mouth recommendation from now on.
My whole life has been spent trying to ensure my brother is comfortable and taken care of, but also while being as silent and out of people’s way as possible. Today, Ashley made sure my brother knew there was no amount of time or space he could take up that would be too much. Thank you for seeing my brother, meeting him where he is, and not trying to make him adapt to everyone else’s world, but rather, you adapting to his. Thank you also for making my sister heart feel at peace knowing we have a safe space within Pisker’s establishment to keep...
Read morePisker's Bakery has been around since 1925. Wow! I always drive past the bakery but never went to the bakery until Sunday, February 27th.
I walked in and there was no line inside or outside of the bakery. I noticed the pricing of the food items. Some bakeries I've gone to did not have pricing and I had to ask.
I noticed there were a variety of pies such as lemon, cherry, apple crumb, 3 fruit crumb, apple crumb, and french apple pies to name a few. There were also a few pastries as well such as raspberry chocolate, raspberry cheese, cherry cheese, and blueberry cheese pastries.
Some of the variety of donuts I noticed were powdered jelly donuts, glazed, and cinnamon glazed donuts. I did not think there were a variety of donuts but it could have been the time that I went which was around noon.
I ordered a half dozen donuts and my aunt ordered half a dozen donuts and raspberry chocolate...
