Wow!!!! If I could give this place 100 stars, I would! My husband and I are staying in Louisiana for the night before going on a cruise for our honeymoon. We asked the hotel concierge for recommendations on where to go for good food and drinks. They directed us to another place and when we walked in, I knew it wasn’t what I was looking for. I went to google maps and stumbled upon this gem and I AM SOOOOOO GLAD THAT I DID! As soon as we walked in we were immediately greeted and felt at home! I ordered a drink and asked for a menu, the bartender pointed to a man and told me that he handles all of the food. I went over to him and he was soooooo sweet and kind and glad to make me whatever I desired. Mike is his name. We ordered the crawfish egg rolls and a sausage po’ boy—OMG SOME OF THE BEST FOOD IVE EVER HAD!!!! Mike makes everything from scratch and KNOWS what he is doing in the kitchen. We were lucky enough to meet the owners as well and they were the literal best and so kind and welcoming! Of course I can’t finish this review without mentioning Lisa, our wonderful bartender! The kindest, sweetest, best person that makes great drinks and will never let you go thirsty. Seriously, this is THE BEST bar I’ve ever been to in Louisiana, and I frequent here often. I cannot stress enough, the way that everyone makes you feel at home. The hospitality that we received was superb. I really cannot even say enough good things about this place. It is an experience like no other and there is something so special about it that YOU MUST experience yourself. Do yourself a favor and give it a try, the authenticity of the people, food, and atmosphere is, bar none! The headache that I have today is 100% worth it. The time we had here was probably in my top 3 best experiences at a bar/restaurant and that is saying a lot coming from a long time food industry worker and self proclaimed foodie. Check them out, you will NOT be...
Read moreSorry it took me forever to post this. Y’all know how it is planning a wedding, it’s hectic and time has escaped me. I want to start off saying, this should be a staple for first timers and regulars to New Orleans. The food was so delicious, Mike did an amazing job. The ambiance was what I’d imagine Cheers the show would feel like, family. We went in not knowing what to expect after the swamp tour and stumbled upon long lost family it felt like. Marsha, Ray, and Denise just showered us with love and especially me the bride. You walked in strangers and walked out family. My only regret is I didn’t get their addresses so I could invite them to our wedding, that’s literally how amazing they were. Do yourself a favor, go here, you’ll be happy you did. And if you’re wondering what we are pointing at in the picture it’s the dollar they have you put up, we signed it with a hidden message, I won’t tell you what it is, you’ll have to stop by to figure that...
Read moreAn amazing experience here! We were greeted not only by Masha but the locals. Very friendly. The southern hospitality I've heard a lot about. I'm from California and this has to be one of the friendliest state and spots I've been to. We started with drinks so i ordered the hurricane as recommended by Masha and it's perfectly balanced between sweet and strong comparee to the hurricanes I've had on bourbon street that make them extremely sweet. For food I had the roast beef po boy, it was definitely delicious and filling! Very tender and easy to chew and swallow. Definitely worth the try if you're looking for more authentic and less touristy eat. Even the fish that my mother order was hot and fresh! I think it was catfish if I remember, but it was definitely delicious as well. As it is my wife's and my first time this place will memorable and when we come back I'll definitely be stopping...
