14JUL24 ~ Again, the food was great, the service was great, and the atmosphere was great. We started with the Crab Dip as an appetizer. Never have I had so much lump crab meat in my dip. I recommend this dish. We also had the excellent gumbo appetizer which did justice to South Louisiana gumbo anywhere. My wife had the Shrimp & Grits, and it was outstanding in quantity & quality. I had my usual Seafood Platter as my all-time winner, especially the crabcakes. Our regular waitress & the hostess/manager were their normal exceedingly personal & professional selves. Thank you!
The 3% charge for using a credit card & the 50 cents for ordering a takeout left me with the 'nickel & dime me to death' feeling and that is why the 4 stars for this visit.
11FEB24 ~ Another Fantastic Five Star Meal Experience! When you go to a restaurant is normally about the food, right? We were not disappointed! Our Baked Oyster Elmwood was 'to die for' good. I have eaten at almost every restaurant in New Orleans over the past 4-1/2 decades & I have never had better cooked oysters. The quantity was very good also. With a garden salad it would make a meal for most. Highly recommended. My wife, who normally gets the braised beef, also recommended, had the Shrimp & Grits, which she shared with me, & we both thought that this was at least as good if not better than any Shrimp & Grits we have ever had. Again, highly recommended. I had my usual seafood platter, recommended, which was again excellent in quality & quantity. I really like the crab cakes. Our waitress, Brigitte, was everything that you would want in a waitress, personable, helpful, fast on the uptake, & she always seemed to come by at the right times, not too often & not too seldom.
They do charge 3% for using a credit card, which I do not like, but at least it is posted on the counter as you enter.
For more information on the restaurant refer to the last paragraph of the below prior review.

Our Sunday afternoon dining experience was everything that we would want/like. The staff was pleasant, our waitress, 'Jennifer' (Pictured), was outstanding, and the food exceptional & moderately priced. I normally get the seafood platter, fried oysters, shrimp, catfish, & crab cake, and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend the crab cake. And there was enough left over for two or three more leftover meals. My wife had the braised beef. Our waitress was personable, friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and helpful.
This locally owned family restaurant has daily specials (Pictured), a band stand/music in the covered deck area, and four seating options: The interior dinning area, the outside covered deck area, picnic tables on the grass (Open to non-customers as well), and a 'Boat Dock Cafe' near the Swamp Tour embarkation area, as well as an indoor & outdoor bar. I hope that you enjoy this gem tucked away in Westwego as...
Read moreParty of 4 on the back porch looking out at the boats at harbor and a glassy bayou. It was cold outside but with plenty of propane lamp heaters it was cozy. I different kind of cozy. I ordered the Shrimp Remolaude with extra sauce and we shared a crab dip. Both were very good. The shrimp were fresh and perfect. The dip was warm, light and delicate with buttered little french bread slices. My main course was the Chicken and Tasso Pasta - absolutely fantastic !!! Best pasta I've had in a very long time. Others ordered the White Beans & Shrimp, Ultimate burger with fries and a bowl of Gumbo. The burger looked impressive. I tasted the hamburger patty. It was quality beef and perfectly cooked but unfortunately it lacked flavor ( just a little bit of salt, at least, would be enough ) and fell apart easily. I was told the Fries were great, the Gumbo was good and the White Beans were very good. The shrimp in the beans were high quality as well and the Tasso or Andoulli sausage was a nice addition and added flavor. Finally a dark roast Coffee with fresh dairy creamer and two Bread Puddings with Rum Sauce and Whipped Cream topped off the night. My coffee, though not really hot enough, was just what I wanted and the desserts looked and smelled delicious. I was happily informed that my senses were indeed correct - they loved them. Our service was super; Attentive while not overly so & friendly and upbeat. This was my second time dining here. The first time was inside ( the cajun decor is both comforting and interesting ). The food was great that time to. The service was slow but not to the point of getting annoyed. Plus I believe they were newly opened and understaffed. It was a pleasant experience that first time as well. I look forward...
Read moreThe crawfish crepes were good. The shrimp and grits were a big disappointment. The picture on on the FB page shows sautéed shrimp with seasoning and the tails removed, and a brown sauce/gravy. The shrimp on mine were either boiled or steamed with tails left on, and no discernable seasoning except salt. These shrimp would've been perfect for shrimp cocktail, but didn't go with this dish. The only sauce was a very light drizzle of some sort of syrupy sweet sauce that might've been OK had there been any kind of seasoning, butter, or gravy, but on plain shrimp all I could taste was sweet and a little bit of salt. There was also a couple of pieces of mild boiled sausage, and some roasted corn. I suspect that the corn, sausage and shrimp were meant to be sautéed together with some seasoning, but it seems all these components made it to the bowl without that step. The grits were good, but with no real sauce it just wasn't a good dish. Since it took over 40 minutes between our appetizer and entrees coming out, I had plenty of time to observe the dining room. The 3 tables closest to us all had issues. One sent back a salad, another only got half the food they ordered (other half came out after they finished eating), and the 3rd table sent back a tray...
