Must Stop Cafe — Restaurant in Wetumpka

My wife and I had a terrific lunch there. We had chicken and dumplings, great vegetables, and delicious cornbread. The dumplings were as good as my grandmother used to make, and the sides were all fresh and delicious. Real mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables are getting hard to find at restaurants.

The meal was delicious, and we wanted dessert. I had the coconut pie, and my wife had the chocolate pie. We were amazed by the best pie I have had in years. The crust is fluffy, flaky and buttery. I had forgotten what real pie tasted like!

The price was a little over $22 (not counting tip) for two people to have the meat and three and pie made by angels. I would have paid more for this terrific, Southern, comfort food.

Everyone that works there was really nice, too. Did I mention the pie???!!! It was still warm!

Pick up to go plates from call in order. Was a bit unsure what door to enter when i walked up on sidewalk. Maybe I just didn't see name on the door... 1 plate was country fried steak.& madh potatoes instant potatoes or so they tasted & looked.. nothing to brag on, was hoping it was going to be made there instead of frozen steak patties. Butter beans & black eye peas. Butter beans were yummy, no so much on the peas. However their cornbread was so fresh it would not stick together to pick up & eat. It was delicious. 2nd plate waz poppyseed chicken casserole on rice, butter beans & black eye peas w/ cucumber salad. Casserole was ok, peas the same & other things were really good. Anytime I've been by there to the insurance company or community action last few years and I've seen it there and ask a question ask her so I asked anybody I see going in or coming out and ask him what their favorite dishes in there and they say everything is good, everything is their favorite LOL and I saw our sheriff Mr. Bill Franklin going in there so you know it's got to be good. Their employees have to have take pride in their work and job you know in a restaurant to make it good takes team work especially in the restaurant field.
