Papa Johns Pizza — Restaurant in Wetumpka

I REALLY hate to write this but I gotta. The Wetumpka Papa John’s was once my favorite pizza restaurant (I stopped ordering weekly pizza from any other pizza spots not long after Papa John’s got established & running smoothly). Slowly but surely the quality of the food has gone downhill substantially It started with not receiving the extra toppings & cheese we were paying for (imho there should be more of the extra toppings than the standard toppings, several pieces won’t have even one piece). Also, now it’s a toss up on how the pizza sauce comes now, sometimes it’s tasty sometimes it’s bland, sometimes heavy/ sometimes scant (regardless of how thick you requested). The last straw was last night’s order, there is at least 1/3 of the sauce, cheese & toppings missing from the entire outer perimeter of both pizzas & they didn’t come with the extra toppings or extra cheese….AGAIN! We basically paid $35 for a LOT of hard, plain bread…and ghost extra toppings (see pic, it reminds me of service station slices). It makes me sad that such a great pizza place has dropped their quality so substantially. Maybe more training is necessary? Maybe a better more efficient way to read orders so that expensive extra toppings & extra cheese are indeed included? We aren’t rich so take out is a treat, when we pay so much for “pizza night “ we expect it to be delicious like it once was & with all the extra cheese & extra toppings...

I’m seriously mad and upset about my first experience at this papa johns location. I made an order of two large pizzas, a cookie pan, and jalapeño poppers. One of the pizzas I paid an extra $3 to upgrade to a speciality pizza to have stuffed crust. I also added EXTRA cheese & sauce.

When I went to the door to grab the pizzas, the lady was super nice and respectful, but the pizza order was messed up once I checked. There wasn’t extra cheese, no extra sauce and there wasn’t cheesy crust as I paid extra for. I called them and they sent me a new pizza of the one they screwed up. They added extra sauce & extra cheese, wasn’t evenly cut out. (5 cheese only and the other half 3 of the other) and I had no cheesy crust yet again.

Horrible experience!! This is beyond a shortage of staff issue, this is a poor management issue. Our pizza was ordered at 5:31pm. At 6:45pm I phoned the store to check the status, we were originally promised 40 minutes. Store manager apologized and stated they were short of staff it should be there soon. Phoned the store back at 7:30, store manager promised that the pizza was 5 minutes away. Pizza arrived at 7:37pm. Poor delivery service but we received the pizza and had moved on. Shortly after 8pm the store manager, Tiffany, phoned me and stated we were no longer going to be eligible for deliveries for a poor tip to her driver. She stated she was doing us a courtesy for delivering outside of her service area?? I have never experienced this level of poor service from this location. Let alone someone calling my personal phone regarding a tip amount....
