Donut King — Restaurant in Weymouth

Donut king used to be a fantastic small business but it appears they’ve grown too big to pay attention to important details. And I as a customer am done relying on them after far too many disappointments.

We’ve always ordered the famous birthday donut cake for my son’s birthday in December. Despite me calling days in advance with my order no one could find it, and therefore didn’t have a 7 baked so had to give me a random circle they iced in front of me.

Several times since then I’ve called to reserve custom donuts, only to find no one has my order. Again, frustrating.

But today - today was my final straw. I decided speaking to them over the phone wasn’t reliable so I sent an email a week ago to place a custom order for my daughter’s birthday party. I gave them the date and time I needed to pick up. We discussed frosting colors and sprinkles. Yet when my husband went to pick up the donuts 2 hours before the party … again no one had any knowledge of the order!! So instead of my custom color coordinated donuts they had to throw together 3 dozen random assortment for my three year olds birthday. 2021 Edit: In the past year, Donut King has blossomed from a slightly sketchy Keno den that happened to have donuts to a DONUT DESTINATION. Everyday you can find funky and fun flavors of donuts and a socially-distanced line out the door. They don't offer in-shop seating due to COVID right now but the place is often full of folks. I'm so glad this local gem is getting the attention it deserves! The classic donuts that made this place a gem are still amazing and the new flavors have helped Weymouth Donut King gain the attention it has always deserved!

The best donuts in Weymouth are combined with a crew of regulars staring at the Keno screen hoping to make it big. This place is great for families or folks on their way to work to grab a bite to eat. Their breakfast sandwiches are made fresh on the grill rather than microwaved, so it takes a little longer but is much more delicious than your regular fast food...

Donut King will forever be a staple here in this neighborhood! Great food, great coffee, hot breakfast, Keno & lottery, cigarettes, booths & a coffee bar with TVs for morning coffee entertainment. I have been a patron from a young age for nearly 25 years now! The owner, Sy, (hope I didn't butcher the spelling of ur name - if so, sorry! Lol), is courteous & friendly and very much an actively- involved biz owner. Def qualifies as a truly authentic old school breakfast nook type of restaurant that will always remain a staple spot for the neighborhood. Plus, who doesn't love fresh donuts, muffins, pastries and more baked in-house daily??
