Sweets by Brickhouse — Restaurant in White Bear Lake

Similar to other review, service is subpar. There were 5-6 young girls behind the counter - not one of them smiled at us. A woman (owner or manager, maybe) rang my husband up and she didn’t seem very friendly either. All of them were like 😑. No one else was in the store. Empty. No restrooms. Cute but very small inside. Ice cream brand is “Cedar Creek”. We thought they made their own ice cream. My waffle cone seemed homemade. It was very stale and my ice cream kept melting through the little cracks on the sides. I eventually ended up throwing my ice cream away because it was melting through the cone so badly. It seems they make their non-dairy options. My son got coconut and attempted to eat it but eventually said he didn’t like it. Ended up throwing that one away too.

On our way there, we drove past another ice cream joint with a long line. Next time we’re in the area, we’ll be stopping there instead. Will not be back here.

Also, Google Maps will take you to the other side where the store front isn’t. You have to find the back parking to actually...

Not a fan…went there for the first time last night because it was close and had good reviews, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Big mistake. Brought my kid after his lacrosse game and showed him the ice creams from the menu available online. Also sent the menu to my wife and offered to pick up some ice cream for her. Both were excited to get their ice cream. Only when we got there we noticed those flavors were not available and the person working there said “they can't control what it says online.”

My kid and my wife were both disappointed that the FOUR flavors they had chosen were NOT AVAILABLE!

As for the quality and taste...nothing special at all. The waffle cone was soft and not crunchy. The ice cream was blah.

Sweets by Brickhouse is my favorite ice cream spot in White Bear!! I love this spot, not only is it the cutest ice cream store I've been in across MN but the flavors are delicious! My husband and I love coming here and trying new flavors each time. They offer the best homemade cookies for ice cream sandwiches and new weekly specials that I always keep an eye on (by following them on Instagram). Sweets by Brickhouse has a large variety of flavors, welcoming/friendly staff, and dairy free options..so something for everyone. If you're into mural walls they also have a dedicated Sweets by Brickhouse painted mural on the side of the shop that is the perfect photo op...
