Osaka Hibachi Japanese — Restaurant in Whitemarsh Township

Our takeout order this evening left us with somewhat mixed feelings. On a high note, the pan-fried gyoza were absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection! It's refreshing to find a place that pan-fries them rather than deep-frying, and the flavor was fantastic.

For our main courses, I ordered the shrimp hibachi dinner, and my husband had the filet and chicken hibachi. The portion sizes are undeniably massive! The amount of protein and vegetables was spot on, but the amount of rice was truly excessive – we easily could have split a single entree based on the rice alone.

Unfortunately, the shrimp in my hibachi was quite overcooked. While the seasoning was flavorful, the shrimp itself was dry, tough, and difficult to eat. My husband also found his chicken and filet to have good flavor, but sadly, they too were overcooked, and his steak had a noticeable amount of sinew. On the bright side, the vegetables in both our dishes were cooked perfectly and tasted very fresh.

Although we got takeout, we did notice that the restaurant itself looked exceptionally clean, and the staff we interacted with were friendly. Overall, we won't be rushing back immediately, but we do see potential here and will definitely give them a second chance in the future.

On a completely separate note, their branded insulated to-go bags are surprisingly cute and look...

TL:DR - Delicious food, wonderful folks. This was our first time trying this place out, and we were delighted! The restaurant was literally sparkling clean, & the people working were welcoming. Prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes & high quality food!

The pork ramen was authentically made, and so tasty. The broth was flavorful, noodles were cooked just right, and the toppings were fresh. The pork slices were tender, savory, and generous. This was some of the best ramen I’ve had in the area.

All of the dumplings we got were tender, tasty, & came with extra dipping sauce! The entrees were well prepared, and we had enough extra left over for lunches tomorrow. We saved the salads, too, because we were so satisfied from the rest!
